29 - 18 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jethro Rusted! The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, William Peck and Ian Loll.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rusted shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Williams as he avoids it easily. Williams was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger. Williams misses with a looping right. Rusted scores with a body shot.
Rusted works the jab nicely. Rusted tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Williams was well out of range. Poor timing from Rusted. Williams keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Williams appears to be looking for a big counter. Williams lands a slapping body shot.
Williams throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Rusted moves away from the strike by Williams. We've been told by Williams's head coaches at Jed's Gym that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. Rusted feints and as Williams raises his hands in defense, Rusted changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Rusted in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Rusted is stalling in the full guard. Rusted must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Williams has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Rusted is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position. Williams prevents a takedown attempt there.

Rusted moves to clinch but Williams breaks away and Williams counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Nice cross by Rusted. Williams throws a looping overhand right but Rusted ducks down to avoid it. Williams is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Rusted darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Williams tries to get to full guard but Rusted has control of the leg.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Williams throws a shot from downtown. Rusted moves away and avoids it. Rusted thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Williams if he has to take too many more of those.
Williams feints and then cracks Rusted's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Rusted down. Williams's jab looks to have found its range, popping Rusted under the eye. A nice inside leg kick there by Rusted. That's going to slow Williams down. Williams throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Williams is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Rusted can do to turn this around? Williams tries to move into range but Rusted moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand. Rusted avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Williams stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Williams wants it to stay on the feet. Williams is looking to counter punch. Williams displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Rusted. Daniel Williams has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Khasbulaev shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. Escobar manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Khasbulaev on his heels. He'll look to pass Khasbulaev's guard now, I'm sure. Escobar tries to free his leg and advance position but Khasbulaev is retaining full guard. Khasbulaev will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Escobar stops Khasbulaev from standing up. Escobar working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Escobar trying to control but Khasbulaev is working from the bottom. Khasbulaev can't keep his opponent in guard - Escobar advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Escobar trying to mount his opponent but Khasbulaev defends it. Veres was about to counter that last move with a leg kick but changes his mind. A jab from Veres misses. Romulus Veres seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Veres goes for a spinning back kick but it misses. Veres jabbing away but nothing is landing. Veres misses with a jab, cross combination.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bronson lands a nice looking body shot.
St Pierre ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Bronson shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in St Pierre's guard. St Pierre is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Bronson tries to get to full guard but St Pierre has control of the leg.
