Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Vitaly Minakov (ranked 2362 p4p, 318 weight class) and Niko Alzate (ranked 1547 p4p, 209 weight class). Vitaly Minakov had real problems making weight for this fight. After initially coming in at 206.1lbs, he had two hours to make the official fight weight. He made it but it will have taken a lot out of him to cut those extra few pounds. Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Niko Alzate enters the cage!

Borodin rushes in with a sloppy looking punch

and Shankariya counters with a crisp one two that drops Borodin! Shankariya thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Borodin to his feet! Borodin is in big trouble!
We've been hearing reports that Shankariya has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Shankariya will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
