8 - 5 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Sergio Garcia! The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Richard Clark and James Ackerman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Abai decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Garcia controlling the position well. Abai lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Garcia trying to control from the bottom.
The fighters are battling for position here. Garcia manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Garcia is adopting a defensive guard. Abai lands a couple of elbows. Abai throwing strikes from guard but Garcia blocks nicely. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Abai working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Garcia is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Garcia is trying to control the action in half guard but Abai is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Abai tries to kick Garcia off in order to stand up. Garcia Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control. Abai wants to get back to his feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Garcia sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Abai is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.

Abai's coaches at Russian Bears Training Center have been working on his defensive grappling in preparation for this fight so let's see if he can get out of this tricky position. Garcia takes a little break here. Abai wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well. Abai is trying to get back to his feet. Garcia controlling from side mount. Abai might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Abai is working to avoid the ground and pound but Garcia connects with a decent elbow. Sloppy strikes there by Garcia. Abai throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Garcia works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Abai throwing strikes but missing. Garcia pulls Abai in close to prevent any damage. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Garcia pulls Abai in to control the position. Abai shoots in but no luck this time. Garcia drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Abai defends it well. Abai tries to clinch but Garcia moves out of range. Abai moves in looking to clinch but Garcia pushes him off. Garcia throws a nice outside leg kick. Garcia lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Abai backs up against the cage.
Abai looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Ibrahim Abai dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Abai has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Garcia finds it's way round the side to connect with Abai's head. Garcia connects with a jab. Abai dives in and grabs Garcia's left leg, looking for a takedown. Garcia pushes down on Abai's head and hops out. Abai wants to clinch up but Garcia keeps it at a distance. Garcia feints the counter takedown. Abai doesn't succeed with the takedown and Garcia counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Abai on the wrong end of a nice hook. Garcia manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Abai on his heels. He'll look to pass Abai's guard now, I'm sure. Abai pushes Garcia off and scrambles back to his feet.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Abai misses with a takedown attempt and Garcia counters with a left to the body. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ibrahim Abai. That's going to take a lot out of him. Garcia dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Garcia drives through with a takedown into guard. Abai is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Garcia presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Abai fails to land with a short punch on the inside.

Abai closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Garcia throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done!

Garcia smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

He obviously fancies his chances standing. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Abai will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Garcia is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Abai's half guard. Abai kicks off Garcia and gets to his feet. Abai tries to clinch there but Garcia circles away.

Abai looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. A little jabbing left from Garcia on the counter but it doesn't find it's target. Abai fails with an attempt to clinch.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Garcia circles away from the clinch attempt and Garcia counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Abai shoots in and gets a takedown into Garcia's guard. Garcia uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Abai moves into range and clinches up with Garcia. Garcia tries to break free but Abai pushes him back against the cage. Abai has Garcia pressed against the cage, preventing Garcia from circling away and getting back to striking at range. Garcia has had enough of the clinch but Abai keeps him there for the moment. Garcia lands on the inside with an uppercut. Garcia pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Garcia works over Abai's head and body with a nice combination.
Abai is rocked! The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Garcia scores with the left hand. Abai knows he should have avoided that one. Oh Abai is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! It's a brutal combination of punches from Garcia! Abai is backing up but he can't get away as Garcia lands with one final shot to the jaw that drops Abai and ends the fight. Great knockout.

Good work by Suckerpunch as he checks the leg kick. The fighters circle momentarily. Strong darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. Strong cracks the inside of Suckerpunch's front leg. Strong dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Suckerpunch. That did some damage! Strong cracks Suckerpunch with a good jab. Strong works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance. Strong misses the shot to the body. Strong throws a right and a left that Suckerpunch avoids nicely. Strong clinches up with Suckerpunch and pushes him back against the cage. Suckerpunch is trying to break the clinch but Strong is controlling him. Suckerpunch wants to break the clinch but can't.

Sturd Jr fires out a quick counter leg kick but Scarn just manages to avoid it. Scarn throws a front kick aimed at Sturd Jr's knee but Sturd Jr avoids it well. Sturd Jr looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Scarn wants to clinch up but Sturd Jr keeps it at a distance. Scarn clinches up against the cage. Sturd Jr wants to break free but Scarn has control.
Scarn lands a shoulder strike. Sturd Jr breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Scarn misses with a low kick. A little nod from Scarn there as he acknowledges the shot. Scarn tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Sturd Jr manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Sturd Jr throws a head kick that misses. Sturd Jr lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. Scarn avoids a low kick by using good footwork. A low kick from Scarn is predictable there and Sturd Jr counters with a good low kick that Scarn was not able to check. Scarn shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Sturd Jr but Sturd Jr pushes him off and we're back to square one. Sturd Jr was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit. Sturd Jr lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.

Sturd Jr swings away with a leg kick that misses. Scarn tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Sturd Jr is able to avoid easily. Sturd Jr attempts a low kick but it misses it's target. Scarn punishes Sturd Jr's body with a nice straight punch. Scarn's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down. Scarn will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end. Sturd Jr throws a looping overhand right but Scarn ducks down to avoid it. Sturd Jr tried to score with a low kick but Scarn checks it. Scarn looks to land a left hand but Sturd Jr moved out of range nicely. Sturd Jr lands a glancing blow to the side of Scarn's head. This has been an exciting period of action! McGuire on the wrong end of a nice hook. Maraçon misses with a wild body shot. Maraçon is really dominating this fight. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Poffo misses with a hook
and Hooper counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Hooper shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Poffo as he avoids it easily. Poffo throws a solid leg kick but Hooper takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Poffo. Poffo takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

No joy there for Seok, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Seok misses with a looping right. Seok bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Gower waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Seok. Seok scores with a body shot.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Seok shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Gower as he avoids it easily. Gower only half commits to the counter leg kick. Gower throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Seok sees it coming and avoids it easily. Gower scores with a slapping inside leg kick. Gower throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Seok stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Seok throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Seok sets himself, and Gower steps forward looking for the clinch! Seok avoids it this time. Gower throws a leg kick which misses Seok's front leg but catches the back leg as Seok tries to avoid it. Seok shoots in for a takedown but Gower shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Gower darts in and clinches Seok up against the cage. An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Gower. Gower tries to work over Seok's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. Seok tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage. Gower doesn't land with the attempted body shot.

Seok will be looking to protect his midsection after taking some solid kicks to the body. Seok lands a left hand that snaps the head of Gower backwards. Jeff Gower seems to be working more effectively in the clinch in the fight so far. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Seok. Gower lands with a light punch inside. Seok lands with a short head shot on the inside. Seok tries to pull guard but Gower forces him back to his feet, against the cage. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Lee Sang Seok. That's going to take a lot out of him. Gower swings wildly with an uppercut but Seok uses good head movement to avoid it. Seok blocking some punches.

Seok misses with a hook. Horrible takedown attempt by Seok or perhaps it was just good defense by Gower, which made it look bad. Gower lands a nice looking body kick. Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Gower.

Gower manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage. Seok misses with some punches.

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Gower creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut. Gower lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Seok backwards. Lee Sang Seok has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
