The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bugurtov shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Bugurtov avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Holmes seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Holmes has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Bugurtov should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Holmes has tightened it up now! Bugurtov should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cosades fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and I Can has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage. Cosades throws a head kick that half lands.
I Can has his takedown stuffed and Cosades counters with a left to the body. Cosades ducks under a wild hook from I Can. An attempted straight right counter from Cosades misses the target. I Can walks into a jab. Cosades slips under a jab. Cosades throws a low kick, looking for I Can's leg but I Can calmly moves out of range. Cosades uses good head movement to avoid the hook from I Can. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. I Can steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Cosades. Nice body punch from Cosades. I Can throws a lazy uppercut
and I Can takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. We've been hearing reports that Cosades has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.

I Can tries to counter with a clinch but Cosades shakes him off and moves away. Good exchange - Cosades coming out on top. Cosades throws the left hand but I Can avoids the punch easily. Cosades swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect. Because I Can seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Nice shot lands for Cosades. I Can throws an overhand right that lands on Cosades's shoulder, as Cosades tries to avoid the shot.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Cosades clobbers I Can with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. This has been an exciting period of action! I Can with a poor takedown and Cosades counters with a nice uppercut. Cosades throws a leg kick but I Can moved away. I Can has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. Cosades looks to land a left hand but I Can moved out of range nicely. A punch combination from I Can misses. Cosades bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of I Can's head. I Can is really struggling to land any decent head shots against his taller opponent. A looping hook to the body misses from I Can. Cosades does a little dance to reset his feet. Cosades lifts his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick. I Can shoots in for a double leg but Cosades sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Caius Cosades has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Because I Can. I Can throws an ugly left hook that misses

I was talking to Mikeli's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight. Mikeli misses with a punch on the inside.
Dorrance lands a good knee to the midsection. Mikeli won't want to take too many of those. Mikeli is trying to force a seperation but Dorrance has the dominant position. Dorrance tries to land a knee to the head but Mikeli blocks with his arms.

Mazzini avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Lecter accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Lecter pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Mazzini is keeping the position for now. It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Lecter, as he picks up the win!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Marcos clinches up against the cage. Built pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Built bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Built connects with the punch. Built gets caught flat footed, as Marcos shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Marcos throwing strikes but missing. Marcos pushing down on Built's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Built controlling the position for now. A momentary lapse in concentration from Built enables Marcos to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Built manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Marcos passes Built's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Marcos lands with a punch from half guard. The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end. We've been hearing that Collins has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish. Collins trying to control the position but Stark is working away. Stark is trying to work for a sweep but Collins has mounted him! Stark takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position. Collins working the ground and pound effectively.
Stark sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Stark is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Collins's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Collins's back! Stark is working for the choke. He's slipped one arm under the chin. Collins has to defend the other arm for all he's worth... but Stark has managed to get that arm free too and he's tightening the choke! Collins taps out and looks absolutely disgusted with himself. Stark doesn't care though - he's delighted!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Shoe throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Lang gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there. A slow jab from Lang misses its intended target. Shoe keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Lang. Lang wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. The fighters circle momentarily. Lang darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. Lang has not gone for a single takedown so far in this fight, which seems like a very strange tactic when you consider that he has the superior wrestling and BJJ. Lang lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.

I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Lang throws an overhand right that lands on Shoe's shoulder, as Shoe tries to avoid the shot. Lang throws a lazy right hand but Shoe sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. And an attempted straight right on the counter from Shoe! But no joy. Lang misses with an uppercut. Shoe saw that one coming. And Shoe responds with a good body kick, but Lang manages to step out the way in time. Shoe scores with a kick to the midsection. A swing and a miss from Lang. Shoe throws a low kick but it's checked well by Lang. Lang takes a kick to the side of the head. Shoe walks into a left hand.
