Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
23 - 20 - 2, fighting out of Las Vegas, Perrin Aybara! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
24 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tetsuya Shiroo! The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Alan Glass and Stewart Dunkirk.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Aybara lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Shiroo avoids the body shot from Aybara.
We've been informed that Shiroo has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result. Shiroo tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Aybara paws at him with a jab and circles away. Aybara misses with an uppercut. Shiroo saw that one coming. Aybara throws a predictable looking body shot
and Shiroo moves into the clinch. Aybara can't break the clinch.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Aybara wants to control from the top but Shiroo keeps moving. Aybara has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Aybara throwing strikes but missing.

Aybara might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Shiroo postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Shiroo accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Shiroo passes Aybara's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Shiroo misses with a head shot. Aybara uses the momentum to regain guard. Aybara is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Aybara wants to sweep but no luck. Aybara is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Dahlberg scores with a slapping inside leg kick. Spliffton uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Dahlberg. Dahlberg crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Spliffton - the referee stops the clock and Dahlberg gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Spliffton. Dahlberg manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes. Dahlberg has developed a nice purple lump on his ribcage, as a result of some heavy body kicks from Spliffton. Seinfeld stacks Fda on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Seinfeld! Fda felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it. Seinfeld wants to lay and pray for a moment but Fda keeps working. You can see the frustration on Fda's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Chris Fda has got the better of the ground game so far. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Fda is looking to regain half guard here but Seinfeld keeps moving and retains side control.
