The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Woods shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Carr but Carr pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Woods fails with the takedown.
Nice sprawl there from Carr as Woods shoots in.
Tyson Carr has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Grady Woods.
Carr throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Woods closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Carr did well to prevent Woods getting side control.
Carr is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Woods wants to work for an arm triangle but Carr is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Carr escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Woods gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Carr is looking to stand up but Woods isn't so interested in that idea.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Carr keeping moving, preventing Woods from controlling successfully.
Carr wants to stand but Woods is controlling the position.
