Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Gato Wali!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, John Johnson!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Cecil Peabody and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Johnson lands with an uppercut that bounces Wali off the cage and back into range.

Wali changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Johnson looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Johnson dodges the ground and pound from Wali.

Wali looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.

Wali tries for a kimura but Johnson is defending well.
Johnson is looking to regain half guard here but Wali keeps moving and retains side control.
Wali is staying tight to Johnson's torso, preventing him from escaping.
The strikes coming from Wali are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
Johnson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Wali. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Johnson struggling a bit here.
Wali works to advance to full mount. Johnson defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.
Johnson is trying to stand up.
Wali sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!
BOOM! Wali connects with a massive shot to the dome!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
A nice elbow there by Wali.

Wali with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.

Johnson is trying to stand up.
Wali lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Johnson wants to improve position but instead he's given up his back.
You can see the frustration on Johnson's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Johnson is keeping busy.
Wali keeps control of the position easily here as Johnson tries to buck him off.

Wali has the hooks in and he's looking for a rear naked choke here. Johnson is defending well but eventually Wali manages to get an arm under the chin and he's locked on the RNC! Johnson has no choice but to tap now! He does! This one is all over!
