The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Minasian misses with a straight right.
Minasian stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Minasian wants it to stay on the feet.
Shiva goes for a double leg but Minasian avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Minasian continues to drive forward.

Minasian throws a hook to the side of Shiva's head but Shiva sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Minasian throws a quick counter kick to the body but Shiva avoids it.

Minasian feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Shiva's calf.
Minasian clobbers Shiva with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Minasian connects with a jab.
Shiva doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
A shot to the liver by Minasian. Beautiful body shot.
Minasian uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Shiva has time to react.

That has opened up Shiva Shiva's cut even more.

Minasian feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Shiva sprawling to the canvas! Shiva rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Minasian finish him?!

Shiva is rocked!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Minasian cracks Shiva with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Shiva tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Minasian pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Shiva is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:49 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Alex Minasian!
An out of breath Alex Minasian thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.

Hoi's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Takano connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Hoi scrambles back to his feet.

Hoi shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Takano but Takano pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Hoi is trying to drag Takano to the mat but Takano just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Hoi is trying to pull guard but Takano turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Pina Colada Hoi. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Hoi tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Takano defends well and Hoi ends up having to push Takano into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
It seemed like Takano was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.

Hoi doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.

Hoi is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

Takano lands a big head kick that sends Hoi tumbling to the mat! Takano takes a step backwards and waves Hoi back to his feet - he wants the finish!

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

That's time! Hoi's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. And we move into the final round!


Takano throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Takano tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Hoi was well out of range. Poor timing from Takano.
Hoi goes for a double leg but Takano avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Takano continues to drive forward.

and Takano counters with a good low kick that Hoi was not able to check.
Takano throws a good cross that connects.
Takano thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Hoi if he has to take too many more of those.
Takano has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Both fighters circling slowly here as the pace drops. Hopefully one of them does someth.. OOOHHHH!!!! Takano throws an absolute beast of a head kick! Hoi is done! He's out cold, twisted and contorted up against the cage! Wow!
