The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wheeler swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Valerdi shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Wheeler defends it nicely.
Wheeler displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Valerdi.
Wheeler moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Valerdi looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Valerdi doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.

Jari Mela struggled to make weight for this fight. He only made it down to 171.6lbs at the first attempt and had to take the additional two hours to make the official bout weight.
