 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Brawler tries to clinch up. Brawler fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Brawler tries to clinch but Yuudai is having none of it. Horrible takedown by Yuudai or perhaps it was just good defense by Brawler which made him look bad.
Yuudai gets a clinch.
Yuudai has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Brawler regains guard immediately. Brawler is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Yuudai slips nicely into half guard. Yuudai moves into full mount! Brawler won't be happy about that! Yuudai seems to be looking to move to his opponent's back but Brawler is holding on tight.

 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Curtain slaps away a takedown attempt from Sam, before circling back to the center of the mat. Curtain is looking to score with low kicks. Sam shoots in but no luck this time. Curtain with a jab. A punch lands to the side of Sam 's head but he takes it in his stride. Nice defenses there by Curtain. Sam shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Curtain defends it nicely. Kevin Curtain has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Uncle Sam. Curtain lands a right hook to the body.

 It looks like Uncle Sam has been cut. Curtain lands a nice shot that snaps Sam's head back.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Curtain moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot. Uncle Sam seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Nice jab there from Curtain. Curtain lands a glancing blow to the side of Sam's head. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Sam is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Curtain's half guard. Curtain tries to get to full guard but Sam has control of the leg. Curtain manages to get to full guard.
Curtain has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Curtain has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Sam postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Sam throws a strike but Curtain rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Curtain is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. Sam tries to land a sweep but no joy. Curtain advances position into side control! Sam is trying to escape the position but Curtain is controlling the position. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Sam can do anything to dispel that myth.
 The referee stands the fighters back up. Kevin Curtain just wasn't active enough from the dominant position. Curtain lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head. Curtain moves into range and connects with a jab. Curtain connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head. Curtain scores with a shot to the body.

 The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Deeds drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Jones manages to get back to half guard.
Deeds is trying to work for a kimura but Jones is defending well.

That was a close round but I would say that Perrin Jones will probably get the nod. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Cedric Daniels (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nai Khanom Tom (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Khanom Tom comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Round 5 kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Nai Khanom Tom told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

6 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Nai Khanom Tom ! The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Steve Erwin and Hugh Johnson.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Khanom Tom checks a leg kick nicely. Khanom Tom lands with a right hand. This fight brought to you by 5M nutrition - it's mmmmm tasty. Nice jab by Khanom Tom . Daniels throws a body punch but Khanom Tom moves out of range. Daniels lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Khanom Tom at a distance.
Daniels misses with a straight right. Khanom Tom lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Daniels circles away quickly and effectively. Khanom Tom tries to bum rush Daniels with a series of wild strikes but Daniels uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Khanom Tom tries to move into range but Daniels moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand. Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Khanom Tom . Daniels walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. Khanom Tom tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Nai Khanom Tom seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Khanom Tom throws a shot from downtown. Daniels moves away and avoids it. Khanom Tom wants to clinch up but Daniels keeps it at a distance. Daniels takes a swing at Khanom Tom 's ribcage but misses. Daniels lands a slapping body shot.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Daniels misses with a looping right. Daniels throws a head kick but Khanom Tom moves out of range.
Daniels looks to land a left hand but Khanom Tom moved out of range nicely. Khanom Tom connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt. Daniels throws out a loose jab but Khanom Tom uses good head movement to avoid it. Khanom Tom misses with a body kick. A jab from Khanom Tom does it's job there. A nice leg kick lands there from Khanom Tom . Khanom Tom has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight. Daniels throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Daniels misses with a wild body shot. Khanom Tom wants to clinch up but Daniels keeps it at a distance. Khanom Tom scores with a jab to the head.

 That's two minutes gone in the round. Khanom Tom uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Daniels has time to react. Daniels takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming. A good leg kick by Khanom Tom . Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! A shot to the body from Khanom Tom misses and Khanom Tom takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Khanom Tom clinches but Daniels breaks the clinch and Daniels counters with a lovely straight right hand! Daniels takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt. Khanom Tom throws a low kick but it's checked well by Daniels. Khanom Tom thows a body kick. Daniels tries to catch it but that hurt him. Khanom Tom keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

Khanom Tom keeps control of Daniels as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Khanom Tom swings wildly with an uppercut but Daniels uses good head movement to avoid it. Khanom Tom avoiding damage as Daniels throws knees to the body.
Daniels is looking to control Khanom Tom 's arms but Khanom Tom gets an underhook and turns him. Now Daniels has his back to the cage. Khanom Tom lands with a left to the head. Daniels has had enough of the clinch but Khanom Tom keeps him there for the moment. Daniels tries to stall but Khanom Tom uses the opportunity to gain a better position.

Daniels is trying to break the clinch but Khanom Tom is controlling him. And that�s the end of the round � the fighters go back to their corners.

Khanom Tom scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Daniels takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him. Khanom Tom misses with a straight right. Khanom Tom bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. A right-left combo lands from Khanom Tom . A low kick from Daniels is predictable there and Daniels takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Khanom Tom throws a good cross that connects.

We are yet to see a takedown attempt from Khanom Tom in the fight. On paper you would think he is the more dominant ground fighter so let's see if these unusual tactics pay off. Daniels lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Khanom Tom circles away quickly and effectively.

Daniels doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. Daniels swings away with a leg kick that misses.

The pace really dropping off here, momentarily. Khanom Tom digs a right hand into Daniels's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Daniels's gas tank. A right hand to the body from Khanom Tom .

Khanom Tom cracks Daniels with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage. Khanom Tom has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Khanom Tom wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Khanom Tom keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.

 Daniels is rocked! Daniels looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that. Today's fight clock is brought to you by...
