Coming up we have a middleweight Tycoon World Grappling Championship rules bout between Michel Colucci (ranked 3422 p4p, 0 weight class) and Don Petersen (ranked 406 p4p, 63 weight class). Colucci comes to the cage accompanied by Le temps des cerises. Don Petersen told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the middleweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of Montreal, with a TWGC record of 4 wins and 0 losses; Michel Colucci! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Amsterdam, with a TWGC record of 4 wins and 0 losses; Don Petersen!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, Chris Edwards and Paul Tew.


The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Colucci.
Petersen keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Petersen fails with an attempt to clinch.
Colucci feinted with a counter takedown.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Colucci is defended easily by Petersen.
Petersen drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Colucci defends it well.

Petersen has managed to clinch.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Petersen has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Colucci ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Colucci no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Petersen is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Colucci is just riding it out for now. Petersen eventually gives up the hold.

Colucci has his foot on Petersen's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Petersen works his way back into a safe position though.

Colucci seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission.

Petersen takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Let's hope that Petersen has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Petersen looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
Colucci is trying to escape the mount.

Colucci sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

Petersen is looking for a kimura here.
Colucci is not content to let Petersen control the position.
Petersen is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.

Petersen maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Colucci could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Petersen has cracked it and Colucci is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Petersen!
