Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Yen Askren! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Dan Tasker! The judges for this bout are Colin Fray, Jeff Smith and Chris Saunders.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Askren moves into range and connects with a jab. Askren jabbing away but nothing is landing. Tasker will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Nice sprawl there from Askren as Tasker shoots in. Askren is looking to counter with a shot to the body. Tasker tries to close the distance and clinch up but Askren swats him away and circles back towards the center. Tasker shoots in looking for a takedown but Askren manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Tasker's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Yen Askren has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dan Tasker. Tasker shoots in for a takedown but Askren shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Tasker has his takedown stuffed and Askren counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Askren lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent. Askren throws a big shot that misses. Tasker closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Askren to the mat! Askren manages to get full guard. Tasker preventing the sweep. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Askren is working hard here to advance position. Askren wants to get back to his feet but Tasker is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Askren had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Tasker defends it easily. Tasker controls from within his opponent's guard. Askren knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Tasker on the ground. Tasker tries to free his leg and advance position but Askren is retaining full guard. Tasker controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Tasker drops back looking for a leg! Askren is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Askren manages to kick Tasker off! Tasker jumps back into Askren's guard. Askren wants to sweep here but Tasker controlling him for the moment.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Tasker slips nicely into half guard. Tasker seems to be working for a kimura but Askren defends the submission attempt. Askren is looking to escape. Tasker looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Tasker is working for a submission of some sort.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Askren is not content to let Tasker control the position. Askren trying to control from the bottom.
Tasker thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Askren's head. Askren is looking to escape. Tasker has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Tasker throwing shots from mount but they're not landing. Tasker trying to control but he's not successful this time.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Tasker working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet. Askren stops Tasker from taking his back. Still, being mounted isn't any better. Tasker is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Askren has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Tasker takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Askren defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Tasker. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Askren slips a leg in and gets back to half guard. Askren tries to get to full guard but Tasker has control of the leg. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Dan Tasker will probably get the nod. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Askren lands with an overhand left. Tasker shoots in but no luck this time. Tasker is looking to clinch but Askren is avoiding it.
Askren dips to his left and cracks Tasker with an uppercut! Tasker throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Askren was covering up waiting for the punch and Tasker finishes the takedown easily into guard. Tasker wants to control from the top but Askren keeps moving. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Askren looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Askren wants to stand but Tasker is controlling the position.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Tasker ducks under a wild hook from Askren. Tasker misses with a few strikes there.
Tasker shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Askren counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Tasker fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Yen Askren has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dan Tasker. Tasker bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Askren tries to buck Tasker off but Tasker is having none of it. Tasker tries to move into full mount but can't pass Askren's legs. Askren is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Tasker is controlling him well. Tasker tries to advance to mount but can't. Tasker trying to control the action but Askren is working from the bottom. Tasker tries to land with some ground and pound but misses. Tasker trying to control the action but Askren is working from the bottom. Askren is letting Tasker control him for a moment.

Askren knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Tasker wants to control but Askren is keeping him busy. Tasker is looking for a kimura. He might have it! That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Askren manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. Askren has his hands clasped together around Tasker's back. He's all about the action. Tasker is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Tasker is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Tasker is keen to just control but Askren is a slippery customer. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Dan Tasker seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Tasker shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Askren but Askren pushes him off and we're back to square one. Tasker gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Askren counters with a stiff right hand. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Askren misses with an uppercut. Nice shot by Askren. Tasker gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Yen Askren is winning the standup battle so far. A looping hook to the body misses from Askren. Tasker does a little dance to reset his feet. We've been told by Askren's head coaches at Boomerang!! PURE ELITE COACHES and Sparring Center that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. Tasker dives in and grabs Askren's left leg, looking for a takedown. Askren pushes down on Tasker's head and hops out.
That's one minute gone in the round. Askren misses with a straight left. Tasker tries for a takedown but Askren circles away easily and Askren connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Tasker takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Askren connects with a right hand. Tasker shakes it off. Askren misses with a looping left. Tasker feints the counter takedown. Tasker shoots in looking for a takedown. Askren tries to sprawl out of it but Tasker keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Askren manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Askren is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Tasker can do to turn this around? Tasker closes this distance looking for a takedown but Askren circles away. Tasker dives in for a single leg takedown but Askren sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Askren misses with a hook. Tasker uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Askren. Tasker fails with the takedown. It looked like Askren wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Tasker misses with a takedown attempt enabling Askren to counter with a crisp jab. Dan Tasker is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Tasker tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Askren defends well and Tasker ends up having to push Askren into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Tasker moves in looking to clinch but Askren pushes him off. Askren throws a hook but Tasker avoids it easily. Good standup being displayed there by Askren as he connects with a hook. Askren jabs at Tasker's body. Askren is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Askren misses with a hook. Tasker ducked under it nicely. Askren works Tasker's body with a nice hook. Askren stuns Tasker with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. Askren misses with a hook. Tasker changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt. Askren lands an overhand right. Tasker shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Askren pinned against the cage. Askren gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Askren misses with a looping right. Tasker tries to bum rush Askren with a series of wild strikes but Askren uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Askren throws a right and a left that Tasker avoids nicely. Tasker lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected. Tasker ducks under a wild hook from Askren. Tasker shoots in for a takedown but Askren shows good takedown defense. Askren throws a big shot that misses. Yen Askren is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Askren comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Askren throws a hook but Tasker blocks it. Askren lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin. Tasker will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Tasker keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Askren. Askren lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Tasker avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Askren stuns Tasker with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. Tasker fails in his attempt to clinch. Tasker with a poor takedown and Askren counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Askren pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Askren ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. Tasker slips a jab from Askren. Askren ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Tasker moves away. Askren throws a hook but Tasker avoids it easily. Nice takedown defense from Askren. No joy for Tasker on that attempt. A big right from Askren misses. Askren looks to throw the jab but Tasker is out of range. Yen Askren has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Dan Tasker is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Tasker bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
And that's the end of the fight! Yen Askren showed his dominance in that final round. I think Tasker has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Dick Caunt told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ronaldo throws a punch but it's blocked by Caunt. Caunt's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Caunt throws a body shot but no joy. Caunt ducks down and throws a hook to the body. Ronaldo connects with a solid leg kick. Caunt on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those. Caunt misses with a wild body shot. Caunt goes for a spinning back kick but it misses. Ronaldo throws a leg kick but Caunt sees it coming and checks it nicely. Caunt misses with a body kick. Caunt throws a wild body kick that Ronaldo sees coming a mile off. Ronaldo appeared to be looking to counter that last move with a leg kick. Ronaldo dips to his left and cracks Caunt with an uppercut! Ronaldo definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Ronaldo misses with a hook to the body
and Caunt counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Caunt feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Ronaldo's calf. Ronaldo throws out a loose jab but Caunt uses good head movement to avoid it. Caunt throws out a counter right but Ronaldo avoids it with no problem.
That's one minute gone in the round. Caunt slips under a jab. Ronaldo feints and then cracks Caunt's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Caunt down. Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Caunt. Ronaldo tried to counter with a leg kick but Caunt avoided it. Ronaldo throws a big shot that misses. Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Caunt, as that shot connected.

Caunt is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Ronaldo rather than just go for the knockout. A chopping leg kick lands by Ronaldo. Ronaldo lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Watch Out Ronaldo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Caunt misses with an attempted mid kick.
Caunt uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Ronaldo. Ronaldo avoids a low kick by using good footwork. Caunt takes a body punch but keeps moving. Caunt throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean. Caunt connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Caunt throws a body kick despite being completely out of range and Ronaldo counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.

Caunt shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. Caunt fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Ronaldo manages to avoid it. A telegraphed right hand from Caunt misses the target. Caunt scoring well with a low kick there.

Ronaldo throws a nice inside leg kick. Ronaldo throws out a powerful jab. A telegraphed right hand from Ronaldo misses the target. Caunt lands a nice leg kick that just misses Ronaldo's sensitive parts. Caunt moves out of range as Ronaldo throws a body kick.
Ronaldo does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Ronaldo throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Ronaldo moves out of range of the body kick from Caunt.

That was a close round but I would say that Watch Out Ronaldo will probably get the nod. That's time! Ronaldo's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

On paper you would think he is the more dominant ground fighter so let's see if these unusual tactics pay off. Ronaldo keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.

Caunt bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Ronaldo's head backwards. Ronaldo throws a half hearted mid kick. Caunt looks like he wants to counter punch here. The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Caunt checks a leg kick. Ronaldo moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. Caunt throws a body punch but Ronaldo moves out of range. Ronaldo fires out a quick counter leg kick but Caunt just manages to avoid it. Ronaldo just misses with a punch to the body.

This has been an exciting period of action! Caunt tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked. Ronaldo digs a right hand into Caunt's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Caunt's gas tank. Ronaldo throws a head punch that misses.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Barakus is looking to clinch but Adaev is avoiding it.
Barakus lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
It looks like Amirkhan Adaev has been cut. Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Barakus. No luck for Barakus with that takedown attempt. Barakus throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Barakus throws a good cross that connects.
Barakus swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Adaev misses with a low kick.
Nice sprawl there from Adaev as Barakus shoots in. Adaev gets the takedown into side control. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Barakus manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! Adaev slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Barakus missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Adaev wants to stand up but Barakus is controlling him. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Barakus is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Barakus won't allow Adaev to sweep him here. Barakus throwing strikes but missing. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Barakus drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Barakus jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Barakus is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Barakus has gone for a leg lock! Adaev slips out almost immediately though and dives into Barakus's guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Barakus has his foot on Adaev's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Adaev works his way back into a safe position though. Adaev wants to stand but Barakus is controlling his posture from full guard. Barakus is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Adaev is controlling him. Adaev throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Barakus works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Barakus is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Adaev defends well. Barakus keeping moving, preventing Adaev from controlling successfully.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Adaev makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Adaev loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Adaev distracts Barakus with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Barakus is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Adaev is aware though and is defending well. Barakus is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Adaev rolls with it to try and escape but Barakus cranks on the arm and Adaev is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Diaz lands a nice shot that snaps Rex's head back.
Rex is looking to score with low kicks. Rex wants to clinch but Diaz slips to the side and Diaz counters with a straight right hand. A big left from Diaz misses. Diaz misses with a double jab
and Rex holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Diaz blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Diaz breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Diaz throws an overhand right that lands on Rex's shoulder, as Rex tries to avoid the shot. Diaz tries for a takedown but Rex circles away easily and Rex moves into the clinch. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Diaz has hold of one of Rex's legs. Rex is fighting the takedown attempt but Diaz gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard. Rex is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Rex keeps trying to improve his position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Diaz passes Rex's left leg - he's now in half guard. Diaz moves into full mount! Rex won't be happy about that! Diaz with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Rex really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Diaz. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Diaz wants to take his opponent's back but he's not managed it. Diaz jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Rex manages to avoid the submission attempt.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Diaz wants to control but Rex is keeping him busy. Diaz working away. Diaz wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Rex, who protects the arm well. Diaz tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Diaz tries for a kimura but Rex is defending well.

Rex might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Diaz haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. Diaz trying to control the action but Rex is working from the bottom. Rex tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Diaz wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Diaz passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Rex! Diaz wants to control the pace but Rex is squirming around nicely. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Diaz working for a submission but Rex is keeping him at bay. Diaz looking to secure an arm triangle but Rex defends it well. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Diaz moves to take his opponent's back. Rex is trying to break free.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A telegraphed takedown attempt from Dar is defended easily by Tessier. Tessier has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight. Nice body kick from Tessier. Tessier gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Tessier gets through Dar's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head. Tessier lands a shoulder strike. Tessier's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Tessier leaves Dar with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Dar gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there. Tessier lands a nice shot to the body.

Coco scores with a slapping inside leg kick. Coco drops his hands momentarily and Brandis takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
It looks like Fanta Coco has been cut. Brandis throws a series of punches but Coco avoids them all with ease. A telegraphed right hand from Coco misses the target. Coco bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Coco goes for a spinning back kick but it misses. Coco looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Brandis stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Coco. Nice shot lands for Brandis. Brandis scores with a decent looking hook. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Brandis shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Coco as he avoids it easily. A jab lands there for Coco. A head kick from Coco lands but Brandis takes it in his stride. Brandis uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Coco. Coco moves out of range of the strikes. Coco bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut. Brandis throws a shot from downtown. Coco moves away and avoids it. Coco with a nice cross.

Fanta Coco's cut is getting worse. Brandis closes the distance and lands a brutal uppercut that knocks Coco out! We're looking at the replay now - he was out before he hit the floor!

Dali ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Fortuyn misses with a shot to the body and Dali counters with a nice uppercut.

Dee is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.

Dee has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Brah to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle!
