The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Marshall misses with a few strikes there.
Paquette is looking to clinch. Marshall throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Paquette stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Paquette misses with an uppercut. A jab from Marshall misses. Paquette swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made. Marshall slips under a jab. Paquette lands a nice looking body shot.
Paquette lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Paquette ducked under it nicely. Ohhhhh! A huge head kick from Paquette! Marshall is out on his feet! Paquette rushes in and throws more strikes. The ref is looking closely - Marshall is covering up but the punishment is just too much and the ref steps in to stop the fight! Marshall is staring into space, just thankful that the beatdown has ended. Brutal finish.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Tonon moves in looking to clinch but Ibu pushes him off. Tonon fails in his attempt to clinch. Ibu throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Ibu looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Ibu bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick. Gary Tonon seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Tonon has a takedown stuffed. A little jabbing left from Ibu on the counter but it doesn't find it's target. Ibu slaps away a takedown attempt from Tonon, before circling back to the center of the mat. Ibu looks like he wants to counter punch here. Excellent takedown into side control there by Tonon. Tonon is rocked! The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:13 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Koh Ibu! A very excited looking Koh Ibu rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ritter throws a combination. Jones tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
It looks like Jack Jones has been cut. Sylvester Ritter seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. A good leg kick by Jones. Ritter moves into range and throws a big uppercut. OH! Jones goes down! Can Ritter finish him!? Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Ritter stopping the sweep attempt from Jones. Ritter with a flurry of punches that miss. Ritter throwing strikes from guard but Jones blocks nicely. Ritter throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Jones works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Jones wants to stand and escape but Ritter is having none of it. Ritter trying to control from half guard but Jones is working away. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Ritter feints and then cracks Jones's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Jones down. Jones lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected. Jones takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Jones walks into a left hand. Jones throws a body kick but he was well out of range there. Jack Jones is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Ritter rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Jones moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Jones throwing a counter right hand but Ritter manages to avoid it. Jones slips a jab from Ritter. We've been told by Jones's head coaches at Midnight MMA that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. Ritter tries to close the distance and clinch but Jones swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Ritter shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Jones as he jumps to the side. Jones was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger. Ritter swings away with a body shot that misses
and Jones counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Sylvester Ritter dominated that round. The cut man is working on Jack Jones's cut. That's time! Jones's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Ritter throws a lazy right hand but Jones sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. A little feinted left hand from Jones on the counter but he doesn't commit to it. Jones cracks a nice hook into Ritter's ribs. Ritter throws a shot from downtown. Jones moves away and avoids it. Ritter keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

Ritter distracts Jones with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Jones manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Ritter manages to get himself to full guard.
Ritter has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall. Jones wants to stand but Ritter is controlling his posture from full guard. Ritter is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ritter is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage. Jones engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Ritter is pulling down on Jones's head to control his posture. Jones wants to get up but he can't break Ritter's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Jones controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Ritter managing to control the position.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The fighters circle momentarily. Jones darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. Ritter tries to clinch up. That's four minutes gone in the round. Ritter does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Ritter throws a right and a left that Jones avoids nicely. Jones thumps Ritter with a low kick. Ritter looks to throw the jab but Jones is out of range. Ritter throws the left hand but Jones avoids the punch easily. Ritter lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Jones looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple. Ritter ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Jones moves away. Jones throwing a counter right hand but Ritter manages to avoid it. Ritter throws a poor cross that misses
and Jones counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
It looks like Sylvester Ritter has been cut. Jones lands with an overhand left. Ritter misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Sylvester Ritter showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
