0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, David Motts! The judges for this bout are Chris Saunders, Micheangelo Fripello and Roger Salmon.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Daniels misses with a series of wild punches.
Motts has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him. Motts swings away with a leg kick that misses. Daniels checks the leg kick nicely there.
Motts throws a solid leg kick but Daniels takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Motts. Motts misses with a low kick. Daniels fakes a jab and scores with a low kick. Daniels swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Motts counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Motts working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Motts's corner is telling him to maintain position. Motts is working Daniels over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Daniels knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Motts on the ground. Motts scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Motts throwing strikes from guard but Daniels blocks nicely. Daniels being controlled here, momentarily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Motts throws a strike but Daniels rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Daniels throws an elbow that misses. Motts uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Daniels's guard. Nice move by Motts! Motts is stalling in the full guard. Daniels can't keep his opponent in guard - Motts advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Motts thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Daniels's head. Motts controlling the action here. Motts not landing any meaningful shots this time.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Daniels blocking the ground and pound attempt from Motts. Daniels is breathing heavily. Motts is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Daniels! Motts breaks from Daniels's wrist control and lands an elbow. Motts is in the full mount, landing strikes.
It looks like Barry Daniels has been cut. Motts tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Daniels is in a horrible position here. Motts smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Motts cracks Daniels with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Barry Daniels's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it. Motts lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Akai takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Vucevic drives through and clinches with Akai against the cage.
Vucevic scores with a nice hook to the head. Akai wants to break free but Vucevic has control.
Akai blocks an uppercut.
Akai manages to break the clinch.
Vucevic sends Akai crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Vucevic is motioning to the referee to let Akai up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!

It looks like Jun Akai has been cut. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Vucevic rushes Akai and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Akai is still on wobbly legs! Can Vucevic finish him? Akai is looking for a takedown. Vucevic drops Akai onto one knee with a big uppercut from the clinch! Akai is propped up by the cage and works his way back to his feet! The fighters are playing wrist control here with Akai pressed against the cage. Vucevic frees himself up and cracks Akai with an uppercut straight from the bowels of hell! Akai crumples to the floor, out cold! Vucevic jumps on to the cage and takes in the roar of the crowd! That was nasty!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Schwab wants to clinch up but Silvain keeps it at a distance. Schwab has a takedown stuffed. Silvain bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Silvain working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Silvain taking a breather here. Schwab knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Silvain on the ground. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Schwab is trying to get back to half guard.

Silvain trying to control the action but Schwab is working from the bottom. Silvain looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Pereira tries to clinch but Abdul Hannan moves out of range. Pereira throws a head kick that misses. Pereira should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Abdul Hannan swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Pereira throws out a counter right but Abdul Hannan avoids it with no problem. Nice body punch from Abdul Hannan. Abdul Hannan uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Pereira.
Abdul Hannan takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Abdul Hannan seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance. Pereira takes a swing at Abdul Hannan's ribcage but misses. Pereira tries to clinch but Abdul Hannan moves away and Abdul Hannan counters with a monster hook and another for good measure! Pereira falls to the ground, out cold! Stick some heavy metal music over the top of that clip and it's one for the highlight makers!

Good standup being displayed there by Valdevino as he connects with a hook. Valdevino feints a kick and comes over the top with a right hand, followed by a left hook - both land, sending Engles crashing to the mat! This one is all over!

Zarnaiev fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Both fighters circling a little - Daddy Yo finishes the exchange with a kick to the body. Zarnaiev looks winded! Zarnaiev has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Daddy Yo. Daddy Yo uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Zarnaiev.
Zarnaiev moves out of range of the body kick. Zarnaiev steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Daddy Yo. Daddy Yo throws a leg kick which misses Zarnaiev's front leg but catches the back leg as Zarnaiev tries to avoid it. Zarnaiev moves in looking to clinch but Daddy Yo pushes him off. Zarnaiev has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Daddy Yo. Daddy Yo moves into range and connects with a jab.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Daddy Yo lands a body shot.
Daddy Yo walks forward and throws a big overhand right! Zarnaiev drops to the floor like a sack of potatoes! Daddy Yo swarms on him with more punches until the referee wrestles him away from Zarnaiev's unconscious body! Wow, that was brutal!

That's three minutes gone in the round. Monkey with a flurry of punches that miss. Monkey has gone for a leg lock! Smith slips out almost immediately though and dives into Monkey's guard. Monkey wants to sweep here but Smith controlling him for the moment. Monkey controls Smith momentarily but Smith frees himself. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Monkey has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Smith off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds. Smith looks to score with a jab to the body but Monkey is just out of range. Monkey fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Smith, pushing him back against the cage.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Smith works on Monkey's body with a couple of short punches. Monkey looking for a takedown. Monkey is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Smith is defending well. Monkey lands a knee to the body.
Smith manages to break the clinch.
Monkey tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Smith swivels and escapes. Smith tries to counter by clinching up but Monkey breaks away and moves out of range. John Smith has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Spaff Monkey. Monkey moves into the clinch. Monkey fails to pull the fight into his guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Smith drops down looking for an ankle pick but Monkey pulls his leg out and moves away.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Monkey shoots in for a takedown but Smith shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Monkey looks winded! Smith throws a half hearted mid kick. Horrible takedown attempt by Monkey or perhaps it was just good defense by Smith, which made it look bad. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Spaff Monkey dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Smith forces Monkey back against the cage and clinches. Monkey keeps control of Smith as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Monkey tries to pull guard but Smith holds him up against the cage and eventually Monkey drops back down to his feet.
Monkey has Smith pressed against the cage, preventing Smith from circling away and getting back to striking at range. Monkey escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Monkey tries to clinch up. Smith has a takedown stuffed. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Smith uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Monkey. Monkey dives in for a single leg takedown but Smith sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Monkey. John Smith has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Spaff Monkey.
That's one minute gone in the round. Monkey fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Monkey is breathing heavily. Smith tries a head kick but it misses.

Smith fires out a quick counter leg kick but Monkey just manages to avoid it. Monkey throws a body kick but he wasn't in range. Monkey tries to score a body lock takedown but Smith shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Smith jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Monkey walks away with a smile on his face. Smith gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Smith instigates a clinch. And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to John Smith. I think Monkey has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
