Winchester throws a combination. Makoto tries to block but a couple of punches get through.

Winchester lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Makoto circles away quickly and effectively.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Winchester is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Makoto.

Makoto closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Winchester can do anything to dispel that myth.

Winchester is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Makoto has hold of Winchester's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Winchester tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Makoto cranks the arm and Winchester screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Winchester, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kanta gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Nanaka to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Jaffar is pressing down on Noessler's thigh, looking to free his foot. Noessler is holding on for now.
Jaffar moves into full mount! Noessler won't be happy about that!
Noessler has given up his back - I don’t know if this is a deliberate ploy to try and escape or if he is just struggling down there.

Jaffar is working for the choke. I would put my money on him to finish from this position. He's rolled onto his back and has dragged Noessler with him. Noessler is trying to defend but Jaffar has an arm under the chin now! Noessler grimaces and is forced to tap out!
