Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Dr Love (ranked 21811 p4p, 674 weight class) and Nebu Chadnezzar (ranked 21283 p4p, 688 weight class). Chadnezzar comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Wrong side of Heaven kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Dr Love had real problems making weight for this fight. After initially coming in at 171.6lbs, he had two hours to make the official fight weight. He made it but it will have taken a lot out of him to cut those extra few pounds. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A telegraphed right hand from Chadnezzar misses the target. Love thinks about countering with a body kick. Love uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Chadnezzar. Love shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down. Nebu Chadnezzar seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Chadnezzar misses with a straight left. Love throws a head kick that misses. A right-left combo lands from Chadnezzar. Love misses with a head kick.
Love swings and misses with a hook to the body.
A countering left hand to the body from Chadnezzar misses. We've been told by Love's head coaches at ~T~ Troid - Gym that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. Chadnezzar misses with a looping right. Love keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Chadnezzar. Love looked to counter that last move with a leg kick but didn't pull the trigger. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Chadnezzar cracks Love with a right hand to the side of the head. Chadnezzar swings for the body but Love moves out of range.
Love takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. A left lands for Chadnezzar.
That's one minute gone in the round. Love ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Love throws a push kick but Chadnezzar slaps the foot to one side. Good leg kick by Love there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

That sent Love stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. A looping hook to the body misses from Chadnezzar. Love does a little dance to reset his feet. Love throws a counter high kick but Chadnezzar was just alert enough to avoid it. Chadnezzar lunges at Love with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Love's hand. Love moves out of range of the strikes. Chadnezzar slips a jab from Love.

It looked like Love wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit. Love lands a head kick!
Chadnezzar has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Love misses with a head kick.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Reed drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Rothbard is trying to improve his position. Reed tries to land with some ground and pound but misses. Reed working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter. Reed in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Rothbard parries the strikes from Reed easily there. Reed is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Rothbard to escape.

Rothbard tries to avoid it but Reed manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Rothbard to the ground. Rothbard escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Reed drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles. Reed lands with an uppercut that bounces Rothbard off the cage and back into range. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Reed walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. Rothbard lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent. Reed is still on wobbly legs! Can Rothbard finish him? Rothbard weaves into range and cracks Reed right on the temple with a beautiful overhand right! Reed goes down! He's out cold! Wow, what a beautiful knockout! Rothbard is strutting round the canvas like a movie star as the camera bulbs flash frantically.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lopez gets in close and instigates a clinch. Lopez lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage. A short left from Lopez. Strawberry has clasped his hands together around Lopez's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done. Lopez has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance. Lopez tries to buck Strawberry off but Strawberry is having none of it. Strawberry in side control lands a decent elbow. Lopez tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Strawberry wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Lopez is trying to control Strawberry's posture but Strawberry avoids it. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Strawberry tries to land with some ground and pound but misses. Lopez is looking to reverse the position. Strawberry throwing strikes but Lopez manages to buck up and roll into a nice reversal - now he's on top in side control! This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Strawberry manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. Strawberry has been taking part in the yoga sessions down at UFC Boxing and Black Belt BJJ Training Center. Presumably he's going to look for a slick submission... Or maybe he's looking to avoid one. Lopez trying to control the action but Strawberry is working from the bottom. Strawberry won't allow Lopez to pass to mount. Strawberry is trying to maintain the position but Lopez is very close to passing his half guard. Lopez wants to take a breather but Strawberry is having none of it.

He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming. Rockwell tries to move into range but Sixx moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand. Sixx gets a takedown into half guard. Sixx is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Sixx is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Rockwell is just riding it out for now. Sixx eventually gives up the hold. Sixx is working for a kimura but Rockwell is defending it quite comfortably.
