The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Saarenpaa pivots, looking for a leg kick but Corson is out of range and Saarenpaa settles back down. Corson swings away with a leg kick that misses. A lazy body kick from Corson and Saarenpaa counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Saarenpaa blocks a leg kick. Saarenpaa avoids the body shot from Corson.
A looping hook to the body misses from Saarenpaa. Corson does a little dance to reset his feet. Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Corson.

After the fight, Shayne Corson was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.

Satan has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. Ball drops to the floor like a sack of potatoes! Satan swarms on him with more punches until the referee wrestles him away from Ball's unconscious body! Wow, that was brutal!

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Manuel throws a series of punches but Haze avoids them all with ease. Manuel looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Despite the aggression on Haze's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter. Haze lands a front kick. Haze has taken the fight to the clinch.
Haze has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Manuel regains guard immediately. Manuel looking for a guillotine here but Haze defends easily.
Haze controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Manuel has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Haze can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Haze lands a couple of digs. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Haze felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

Haze manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! Manuel has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Haze is working away from the top position though.
