The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thomas misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

Sanchez manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Thomas on his heels. He'll look to pass Thomas's guard now, I'm sure.

Sanchez drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Sanchez jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Sanchez is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Sanchez got a little sloppy there for a moment and Thomas has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Sanchez has managed to get both his arms back between Thomas's legs - danger averted.
Sanchez is in a tricky position. We've heard reports from his gym mates at Bi-Polar Asylum LV's #1 Public Training Center that he's been drilling escapes, so let's see if he can get back to his feet.

It looks like Mister Gibbs has been cut.
Punk attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.
Oh Gibbs is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Punk throws a right and a left that Gibbs avoids nicely.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
