The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Starman closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Lynch wants to stand back up but Starman manages to pass into side control.

We've been hearing good reports from Starman's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Siu tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Siu tries to close the distance and clinch but Mahood swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Mahood connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Siu momentarily.

Mahood lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Tiv has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Wali looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Tiv is fending him off so far but Wali persists. Nope, Tiv circles away and we're back to standing.

Tiv moves into range and throws a big uppercut. OH! Wali goes down! Can Tiv finish him!?

Tiv gets to his feet and stands over Wali, holding his ankles. He dives in with a big left hand that connects! Wali felt that one! Tiv unloads more punches and elbows and this one is over! The ref has dived in to save Wali from any more punishment!
