The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McGillicutty throws a head kick but Mc David moves out of range.
Mc David is looking to counter punch.
John McGillicutty seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
McGillicutty scores with a leg kick.
The crowd cheers as Mc David lands an impressive looking overhand right. McGillicutty doesn't seem phased though.
Mc David connects with a body shot that sends McGillicutty's belly button to the back.
McGillicutty is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
McGillicutty throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
McGillicutty tried to score with a low kick but Mc David checks it.
We've been informed that McGillicutty has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
McGillicutty scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
McGillicutty comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
McGillicutty tries a head kick but it misses.
McGillicutty takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Mc David has an Americana. McGillicutty didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Mc David is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Mc David hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
