The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nallo fails with the takedown.
Nallo throws the kick towards the body but Booningham avoids it.
Booningham misses with a double jab

and Nallo counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Nallo.
Booningham is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Booningham is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.
We've been hearing that Nallo has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.
Nallo working some strikes from top position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Nallo pushing down on Booningham's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
Nallo works his way into full mount!
Booningham really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Nallo. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Nallo controlling the position easily from mount.
You get the feeling that Booningham really doesn't like being in this position too much.

Nallo working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.

Nallo is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Booningham can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Nallo quickly switches position and commits to an armbar! It's a big risk for Nallo but it's paid off an Booningham is forced to tap! Nice work by Nallo.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Preston pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Preston looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Mathis lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.

It looks like Andy Preston has been cut.

Mathis looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Preston pushes Mathis off but Mathis dives into side control.

Mathis stands up and beckons Preston to his feet.
Mathis misses with a two punch combination.
Mathis bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Preston's head backwards.
Mathis weaves into range and cracks Preston right on the temple with a beautiful overhand right! Preston goes down! He's out cold! Wow, what a beautiful knockout! Mathis is strutting round the canvas like a movie star as the camera bulbs flash frantically.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:40 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Petiah Mathis!
An out of breath and clearly excited Petiah Mathis thanked Dr. Dogood for their help and support (and free stuff they sent him).

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jefferson throws a front kick aimed at Nonbeomogov's knee but Nonbeomogov avoids it well.
Nonbeomogov tries to counter with a takedown but Jefferson is quick to defend against it.

Nonbeomogov closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Nonbeomogov stands up and we're back to a striking position.

Nonbeomogov throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Jefferson was covering up waiting for the punch and Nonbeomogov finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Jefferson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Nonbeomogov. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Jefferson is looking to stand up but Nonbeomogov isn't so interested in that idea.
Nonbeomogov scoring with punches to the head and body.
Jefferson is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Nonbeomogov is looking to work some ground and pound but Jefferson has wrist control.
Nonbeomogov prevents Jefferson from getting back to his feet.
Nonbeomogov distracts Jefferson with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

It looks like Jeffrey Jefferson has been cut.
Nonbeomogov postures up and lands a big shot to Jefferson's brow.

Jefferson is rocked!

That has opened up Jeffrey Jefferson's cut even more.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Jefferson wants to get back to his feet but Nonbeomogov is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Jefferson is still in real trouble! Can Nonbeomogov finish him?

Jefferson is working an open guard so Nonbeomogov takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Nonbeomogov drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Jefferson seems to have recovered his senses.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Jefferson has momentary wrist control but Nonbeomogov slips an elbow through the middle.
Nonbeomogov advances position into side control!

The cut above Jeffrey Jefferson's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Nonbeomogov has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Nonbeomogov cracks Jefferson with a big elbow. Oh, he's hurt! Nonbeomogov immediately mounts and start dropping bombs! Jefferson is done! The referee jumps in and saves him from any more punishment - a quick and decisive finish by Nonbeomogov!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:35 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jovic Nonbeomogov!

McDavid closes the distance and pushes Koloff back into the cage.

McDavid has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Koloff is trying to keep an underhook but McDavid manages to get the takedown into half guard.

McDavid is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Koloff is just riding it out for now. McDavid eventually gives up the hold.
McDavid blocks the strikes from Koloff.
McDavid works his way into side control.
Koloff stops McDavid from passing to mount.

McDavid in side control, working for a kimura. He's got hold of an arm and he's torquing it... Koloff is tapping! That's the end of the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Roy McDavid!
An out of breath Roy McDavid thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
Ivan Koloff spoke after the fight, saying 'I must do better'.
