Denker swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Denker takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

Mubeen looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Boranbayev has picked Mubeen up and slammed him! Mubeen can't keep hold of the triangle and Boranbayev manages to pass to side control!
Boranbayev remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
Mubeen parries the strikes from Boranbayev easily there. Boranbayev is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Mubeen to escape.

Stroev trying to control the position but instead, Reljic has worked for underhooks and has pushed Stroev into the cage.
Reljic is trying to break the clinch but Stroev is controlling him.
Stroev is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Reljic gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Reljic wants to get back to striking at distance but Stroev won't allow it.

Reljic has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Stroev uses from the top position.

Reljic is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Stroev has his hands clasped together but Reljic extends and breaks Stroev's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Reljic.

Di Pietro lands a nice looking kick to the body. White takes a step back to recover.
White takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
White tries for a takedown but Di Pietro circles away easily
enabling Di Pietro to counter with a crisp jab.

Di Pietro lands a big head kick that sends White tumbling to the mat! Di Pietro takes a step backwards and waves White back to his feet - he wants the finish!

It looks like Wendall White has been cut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
White shoots in looking for a takedown but Di Pietro manages to keep the fight standing, pushing White's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Good leg kick by Di Pietro there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Di Pietro lands with a nice body kick.
Di Pietro throws a head kick but White moves out of range.
A nice inside leg kick there by Di Pietro. That's going to slow White down.
The fighters circle, before Di Pietro throws a beautiful high kick that crashes into White's neck, sending him stumbling to the floor! Di Pietro lands more strikes and forces a referee stoppage! That one ended in an instant!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:43 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Kick & Punches). Tomy Di Pietro!
Tomy Di Pietro is the new light heavyweight champion!
A less than humble Tomy Di Pietro misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
