The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Salbiev swats away the attempt to clinch by Sax. Salbiev leaves Sax with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. No luck for Sax with that takedown attempt. Sax shoots in for a takedown but Salbiev shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Juha Sax. That's going to take a lot out of him. Salbiev shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Salbiev controlling the action here. Salbiev not landing any meaningful shots this time.

Alexandr Salbiev showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!
Sax misses with a takedown attempt and Salbiev counters with a nice double leg into guard. Salbiev controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Alexandr Salbiev is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Salbiev controls the position.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Satur.
Silva shoots in for a double leg but Satur sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Excellent takedown into side control there by Silva. Satur is trying to buck Silva off. Silva has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand. Silva looks for a takedown but Satur sprawls well. No luck with that takedown attempt from Silva. Datu Satur has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Wand Silva. Nice takedown defense from Satur. No joy for Silva on that attempt. Silva looks gassed! Silva is trying hard to land a takedown here. Satur sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Satur pushes Silva away with a front kick. Satur misses with a body kick. Satur works Silva's body with a nice hook. Silva moves forwards but Satur connects with a nice, crisp jab. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Satur lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Silva at a distance.

Satur's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Satur duly obliges. Satur scores with a push kick. Satur lands a head shot. Satur lands a nice shot to the body.
Satur jabs at Silva's body. Satur is looking to wear down Silva with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment. Satur dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Silva has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Satur finds it's way round the side to connect with Silva's head. Satur lands a nice looking kick to the body. Silva takes a step back to recover. Satur lands a slapping body shot.

Donk. Satur catches Silva right on the button with a cross. Satur moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body. Satur scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent. Satur throws a head kick that misses. Silva blocks the body kick.

Silva tries to score a power double leg takedown but Satur sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Silva somewhat.
That's three minutes gone in the round. A nice leg kick lands there from Satur. Satur lands with a good body shot. Good leg kick by Satur there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Wand Silva seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Satur explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work. Satur looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.

Satur scores with a crisp jab that stopped Silva in his tracks. Silva shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Satur as he avoids it easily. Silva is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Satur's half guard. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Silva throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Silva thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Satur's head. Silva throwing shots but Satur is blocking nicely. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Silva missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Silva tries to stand but can't do so whilst Satur controls his leg. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Datu Satur dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Satur. Satur scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Silva shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Silva wants to stand up but Satur has a hold of him and won't allow it. Satur knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Silva on the ground. Silva is trying to work for a kimura but Satur is defending well.

No luck for Silva with that takedown attempt. Horrible takedown by Silva or perhaps it was just good defense by Satur which made him look bad. Datu Satur has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Wand Silva. Silva shoots in looking for a takedown. Satur tries to sprawl out of it but Silva keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Satur manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Nice shot lands for Satur. Satur is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Silva can do to turn this around? Satur lands a nice hook to Silva's body. Silva takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. Silva gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there. Satur cracks a nice hook into Silva's ribs. Satur getting the better of the striking in that exchange. Satur with a jab.

Satur dips down and scores with a jab to the body. A chopping leg kick lands by Satur. Satur lands with a straight right. Silva didn't see that one coming. A head kick from Satur lands but Silva takes it in his stride. Silva has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him. Satur connects with a good right hand that stumbles Silva. Silva circles away out of range and recomposes himself. Satur lands with a nice body punch. Silva has developed a nice purple lump on his ribcage, as a result of some heavy body kicks from Satur. Satur will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Satur scores with a jab to the jaw. Good exchange - Satur coming out on top. Satur wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Silva shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Satur sprawls well. Satur wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Silva gets slowly back to his feet. Satur pushes Silva away with a front kick. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Silva is defended easily by Satur. Datu Satur has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Wand Silva. Satur with a jab. Silva takes one to the chin there. Silva takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Satur throws a sloppy head kick and Silva moves out of range easily. Satur throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena. Satur lands a jab. Satur scores with a leg kick.
Silva walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. Nice body punch from Satur. Satur lands with a kick to the ribs.
Silva shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Satur pinned against the cage. Satur gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Nice uppercut lands for Satur. That snapped Silva's head back.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Satur throws a leg kick which misses Silva's front leg but catches the back leg as Silva tries to avoid it. Silva takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Satur could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Satur pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Satur gets caught flat footed, as Silva shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Satur is working an open guard so Silva takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Nice takedown defense from Satur. No joy for Silva on that attempt. Nice cross by Satur. Satur cracks Silva with an open hand slap. Satur throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Satur is looking to slow Silva down with leg kicks. A good leg kick by Satur. Satur misses with a head kick.
Satur pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Silva shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Satur wants to stand and escape but Silva is having none of it. Silva with a flurry of punches that miss. Silva postures up in Satur's guard and throws a big left but Satur blocks it. Satur wants to stand but Silva is controlling the position. Silva trying to control but Satur is working from the bottom. Silva is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Silva trying to control the position from guard on top but Satur is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Silva postures up in Satur's guard and throws a big left but Satur blocks it.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Silva crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Satur - the referee stops the clock and Silva gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Satur. Silva manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes. The crowd cheers as Satur lands an impressive looking overhand right. Silva doesn't seem phased though. Silva walks into a left hand. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Satur lands with a kick to the ribs.

Satur stuffs the takedown. Wand Silva has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Silva takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. Silva on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
And that's the end of the fight! Datu Satur showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Satur, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Butch shoots in but Joe avoids the takedown attempt easily. Butch throws a front kick aimed at Joe's knee but Joe avoids it well. Butch jabbing away but nothing is landing. Butch shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Butch was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Butch controlling from the full mount. Butch scores with a couple of good head shots there.
Joe really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Butch. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Butch controlling the position easily from mount. Joe is in a horrible position here. Butch smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

A nice elbow there by Butch. Butch content just to control the position here. Joe takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Billy Butch just wasn't active enough from the dominant position. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Butch is defended easily by Joe. Joe has a takedown stuffed. Butch clinches with his opponent.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Butch pulls Joe into guard.

Billy Butch dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Butch fails with the takedown and Joe counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Joe. Butch drives through with a takedown into guard. Butch slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Butch wants to control from the top but Joe keeps moving. Joe looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
The referee stands the fighters back up. Billy Butch just wasn't active enough from the dominant position. Joe shoots in for a takedown but Butch shows good takedown defense. Joe gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Butch counters with a takedown into side control. Billy Butch has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Cracker Joe. Butch in side control, just content to control the action for now.

Joe tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Butch wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Butch landing with strikes to the head and body from side control. The referee asks Butch politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Butch prefers to stall for the moment though.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Butch working the head with strikes. Butch just content to control the position. Joe takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Butch is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position. Butch stands up and beckons Joe to his feet. Butch throws a head kick that misses. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Billy Butch dominated that second round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Butch fails with a takedown attempt. Butch shoots and misses and Joe cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Joe tries to clinch but Butch moves away and Butch counters with a shoot takedown. Joe fights it but they end up in guard. Butch has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Butch is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Joe is controlling Butch's posture. Joe is trying to control the position but Butch postures up. Butch throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Joe works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Butch is looking to work some ground and pound but Joe has wrist control. Butch throws a strike but Joe rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Joe is fighting to break Butch's control of his arms but Butch is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Butch kicks Joe off and gets to his feet. Butch misses with a takedown attempt and Joe counters with a nice low kick that buckles Butch's knee momentarily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Billy Butch. That's going to take a lot out of him. Butch darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Butch tries to pass the half guard into mount. Joe knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Butch wants to control but Joe is keeping him busy. Butch missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Joe is the more experienced fighter here and he's going to need to draw on some of that experience if he's going to pull this one out the bag. Butch thows a huge punch but Joe dodges it nicely.
Butch lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Butch will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Butch is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Butch is looking to advance position but Joe won't allow it.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Joe lands a slapping body shot.
Joe lands a head shot. Butch with a lazy takedown attempt and Joe counters with a lovely straight right hand! Joe drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Butch wants to sweep but no luck. Joe stays in close to Butch's body and controls the position. Butch bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Joe's guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Butch throws a big right hand that misses. Butch wants to control from the top but Joe keeps moving. Butch drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Joe manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Butch has Joe in his guard. Butch tries to land a sweep but no joy.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Billy Butch. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Butch, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Okaohose Monuwe! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, McGillicuddy Jones! The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Kenichi Hosakawa and Shigeki Fujiwara.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jones looks to land a combination but Monuwe avoids it well. Jones throws out a loose jab but Monuwe uses good head movement to avoid it. Jones throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Monuwe sees it coming and avoids it easily. Monuwe slips under a jab. Jones throws a right and a left that Monuwe avoids nicely. Monuwe shoots in for a takedown but Jones shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Jones misses with a two punch combination.
Jones throws a lazy right hand but Monuwe sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Monuwe closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Monuwe lands in his opponent's guard. Monuwe postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Jones is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Monuwe, into his guard. Jones got a little sloppy there for a moment and Monuwe has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Jones has managed to get both his arms back between Monuwe's legs - danger averted. Jones would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Monuwe has his feet on Jones's thighs here. He's pushed Jones off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! Jones screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!
