We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Nurmagomegov has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

Goodard tries for a takedown but Nuutti sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Nuutti raises up his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick.
Goodard checks the leg kick nicely there.
Goodard half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.

It looks like TJ Goodard has been cut.
Nuutti scores with a hook to the body. Goodard takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Goodard crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Nuutti - the referee stops the clock and Goodard gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Nuutti. Goodard manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Nuutti is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Goodard.
