Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the heavyweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of

0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tommy Tate ! The judges for this bout are George Francis, Tiny Johnson and Chris Downing.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Tate misses with a takedown enabling Fossmo to counter with a crisp jab. Tate throws a head kick that misses. Tate looks to land a combination but Fossmo avoids it well. Fossmo was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger. A head kick by Tate misses and Fossmo counters with a lovely shot to the body. Tate tries to sprawl but Fossmo drives through with a takedown into half guard. Tate looking for submissions off his back. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Fossmo lands with a punch from half guard. Fossmo controlling the action here. Tate taking some punishment here, with Fossmo in his half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Fossmo looks to score some points with some ground and pound. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Tate wants to control but Fossmo is keeping busy and won't allow it. Tate trying to keep hold of his opponent's head but Fossmo manages to pass to mount!
Fossmo postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Tate looks a forlorn figure.
It looks like Tommy Tate has been cut. Tate looks winded! Fossmo looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
Fossmo is working to isolate an arm here. It's a telegraphed submission attempt but he's gone for it anyway - and he's got it! Fossmo extends the arm and Tate is forced to tap!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Helge Fossmo! Helge Fossmo retains his heavyweight title! During a confident post fight interview, Helge Fossmo thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.

4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Corey Mcgraugh! The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Gwen Towbar and Stewart Dunkirk.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mcgraugh scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard. Thomas has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Thomas there as he acknowledges the shot. Thomas scores with a jab to the jaw. Mcgraugh with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Thomas feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Mcgraugh trying to control the position.
Thomas throws a strike but Mcgraugh rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Mcgraugh throws a big right hand that misses. Mcgraugh tries to free his leg and advance position but Thomas is retaining full guard. Thomas is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Mcgraugh is controlling him. Mcgraugh postures up.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Mcgraugh slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Mcgraugh trying to control but Thomas is working from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mcgraugh thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Mcgraugh wants to get up but he can't break Thomas's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Mcgraugh trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Mcgraugh is still trying to improve position. Thomas escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Mcgraugh gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Mcgraugh is looking to work some ground and pound but Thomas has wrist control. Mcgraugh wants to stand but Thomas has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Thomas has his foot on Mcgraugh's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Mcgraugh works his way back into a safe position though.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Mcgraugh has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. Thomas tries to clinch and Mcgraugh counters with a lovely straight right hand! Thomas on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Thomas closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
It looks like Will Thomas has been cut. Thomas shoots and misses and Mcgraugh counters with a crisp right hand that drops Thomas! Mcgraugh lets Thomas back up to his feet, looking for a finish!
Thomas is rocked! Thomas is breathing heavily. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Mcgraugh clinches up against the ropes. Mcgraugh breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Thomas misses with a two punch combination.
A little jabbing left from Mcgraugh on the counter but it doesn't find it's target. Mcgraugh cracks Thomas with a hook to the temple - Thomas is on wobbly legs here! Mcgraugh swarms him with hook after hook, landing with each one! Thomas falls to the canvas face first and the referee dives in to stop the fight! Mcgraugh wins by TKO!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:26 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Corey Mcgraugh! Corey Mcgraugh is the new light heavyweight champion!
