6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mark Coleman! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jason Hawkins! The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Robert Twigg and Wesley Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Coleman tries to close the distance and clinch up but Hawkins swats him away and circles back towards the center. Hawkins tries to clinch but Coleman moves out of range. Coleman shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Hawkins as he jumps to the side. A right-left combo lands from Hawkins.
It looks like Mark Coleman has been cut. Hawkins fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Coleman, pushing him back against the cage. Coleman wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Coleman is trying to drag Hawkins to the mat but Hawkins just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Coleman is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Hawkins gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mark Coleman. That's going to take a lot out of him. Hawkins escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Hawkins tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Coleman paws at him with a jab and circles away. Hawkins lands with a nice combination. Coleman backs away looking to recover. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Hawkins fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Coleman is breathing heavily. Hawkins lands a big uppercut and Coleman crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Coleman looks OK. Hawkins waves Coleman back to his feet!
Mark Coleman's cut is getting worse. Hawkins finds Coleman's off switch, with a big overhand right that connects perfectly to the side of the head! Coleman flops back against the cage, eyes gazing into the distance. Hawkins lands an unnecessary shot before the referee has time to step in and end the fight. Brutal stuff but I'm sure Coleman will be OK.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:46 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Jason Hawkins!

4 - 7 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tony Mangello! The judges for this bout are George Francis, Robert Twigg and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mangello tries to land a leg kick but Lock saw it coming and moves away.
Mangello misses with a jab, cross combination.
Lock shoots for a double leg takedown but Mangello sprawls well. He's pushed Lock's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Mangello tries for a takedown but Lock circles away easily and Lock decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Mangello's guard. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Lock accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Mangello throws his legs up looking for a submission but Lock uses it to pass to side control.
Lock remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lock tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Lock creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Mangello sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike. Lock trying to control the action but Mangello is working from the bottom. Lock tries to score with some ground and pound. Mangello controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Lock wants to lay and pray for a moment but Mangello keeps working. Lock really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Mangello throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Lock was covering up waiting for the punch and Mangello finishes the takedown easily into guard. Lock is trying to keep Mangello in close.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mangello throwing strikes but missing. Lock is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Lock is on top in guard.

Lock with a lazy takedown attempt and Mangello decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Lock's guard. Mangello wants to control from the top but Lock keeps moving. Mangello postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Lock has Mangello pulled in close to control his posture. Mangello wants to control from the top but Lock keeps moving.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Lock is trying to escape and get back to his feet. Mangello tries to land with some ground and pound but misses. Lock wants to control but Mangello postures up. Lock is looking for a sweep. Lock is trying to buck Mangello off. Mangello lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Lock explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there! Mangello gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Lock trying to control the position from guard on top but Mangello is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Mangello lands a decent shot there. Mangello tries to land a sweep but no joy.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Mangello keeping moving, preventing Lock from controlling successfully. Lock slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Lock will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Lock trying to control the position from guard on top but Mangello is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Ben Lock overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Mangello is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Lock won't allow Mangello to get back to his feet. Lock stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Mangello swivels though and keeps the full guard. Lock is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Mangello wants to stand and escape but Lock is having none of it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Mangello is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Lock defends well.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Lock doesn't succeed with the takedown and Mangello counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Lock is looking to control Mangello's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Lock avoid being mounted? Lock is controlling Mangello's trapped leg to prevent Mangello from advancing to side control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Lock has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Mangello is working away from the top position though. Mangello passes into side control, despite Lock's attempt to control the position.
Lock is trying to control Mangello's posture but Mangello avoids it. Lock manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.

Lock wants to get back to full guard. Lock is trying to maintain the position but Mangello is very close to passing his half guard. Mangello performing his best blanket impression for a moment.
And that's the end of the fight! Tony Mangello comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Mangello has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Silver bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Silver decides to stand up, so the ref orders Alberto to his feet. Alberto throws a hook to the side of Silver's head but Silver sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Alberto uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Silver. Silver fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Alberto avoids it really well and circles away. Alberto gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Silver counters with a left to the body. Silver darts in and clinches Alberto up against the cage. Alberto keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Silver's efforts to push away. Silver breaks from the clinch.

Alberto is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Silver shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Silver showed some decent athleticism there. Alberto slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. The fight stays on the outside here - Silver looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Silver swinging wildly here.
Silver tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Silver keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Silver stuffs the takedown attempt from Alberto. Alberto gets slowly back to his feet. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Silver tries to bum rush Alberto with a series of wild strikes but Alberto uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Alberto showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Silver.
Both fighters are breathing heavily. Silver avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

That's one minute gone in the round. Alberto drops his hands momentarily and Silver takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. Silver rushes Alberto and presses him up against the cage. Alberto using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Silver has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Silver breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Silver scores with a takedown into Alberto's guard. Silver advances to half guard. Alberto blocking the ground and pound attempt from Silver. Alberto trying to control here.
Silver lands with a punch from half guard. Silver stands up out of the half guard. Silver looks to land a combination but Alberto avoids it well. Silver throws a left and a right that both miss
and Alberto counters with a three punch combo that has Silver backing up. Silver nods at Alberto to acknowledge the strikes.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Silver shoots for a double leg takedown but Alberto sprawls well. He's pushed Silver's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. The fighters circle momentarily. Silver darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. Silver lands a head kick. Alberto smiles back at him and beckons him forward. Alberto lands with a nice body kick. Silver stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Silver wants it to stay on the feet. Silver tries to clinch there but Alberto circles away.

Silver throws a body kick, spinning off balance and Alberto counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Silver keeping moving, preventing Alberto from controlling successfully. Silver looking to hit a scissor sweep but Alberto is one step ahead there.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Silver is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched. Silver wants to break the clinch but can't.
Silver tries to break free but Alberto pushes him back against the cage. Alberto blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. Alberto stalling the fight.
Silver breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Silver closes the distance and clinches up with Alberto, looking for a takedown. Silver pushes Alberto against the cage but Alberto circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Silver doesn't succeed with the takedown and Alberto counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Carlos Alberto has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Chad Silver. Silver has his feet on Alberto's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Silver throws a right and a left that both miss. Silver will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Alberto drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Alberto in side control, throwing shots but Silver defends. The ground and pound from Alberto seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Silver is trying to escape and get back to his feet. Silver has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Alberto wants to lay and pray for a moment but Silver keeps working.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Carlos Alberto. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Claymore smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button. Ricardo ducks right into an uppercut from Claymore. Claymore tries to land a front kick but Ricardo steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Ricardo misses with a series of wild punches.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Ricardo. Ricardo swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Claymore lands a left and a right that send Ricardo crashing to the mat, dazed. Claymore thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

It looks like David Ricardo has been cut. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! The bell rings for round one and we are underway! me tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Staal swivels and escapes. Staal fails in his attempt to clinch. me shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Staal as he avoids it easily. me shoots in for a takedown. Staal is a very stocky fighter. Infact he's such a weird shape that he's almost like some sort of comedy character - it's hard to believe he's real. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Staal sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though. Staal is looking to escape. Staal is trying to maintain the position but me is very close to passing his half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's one minute gone in the round. me sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Staal defending well though. Staal is not content to let me control the position. Staal really doesn't want to stay on the ground with me. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. me is trying to work for a kimura but Staal is defending well.

You can see the frustration on Staal's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Staal manages to get back to half guard. me is working for a kimura but Staal is defending it quite comfortably.

Not particularly brutal. me trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. me is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Staal is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Staal has escaped and now he's on top! Staal is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Staal stays in close to me's body and controls the position. Staal has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of me is proving hard to escape from. Staal is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first. me looking to sweep here. No luck so far. me working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Staal doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Staal manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. me looking to hit a scissor sweep but Staal is one step ahead there.

Staal wants to pass the guard but me is keeping the position. me escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Staal gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Staal wants to pass the guard but me is keeping the position. Staal prevents me from getting back to his feet. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! me looking to control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Staal controls the pace of the fight for a moment. me wants to sweep but no luck. me looking for a guillotine here but Staal defends easily.

Staal is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down me rather than just go for the knockout. me swats away the attempt to clinch by Staal. Staal scores with a body shot.
And that's the end of the fight! Brooks Staal comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Staal has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

letting Danzig counter with a right hand. Laine defending well as Danzig loads up on a big left hand. Danzig gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there. Laine lands with a good body shot. Good exchange - Laine coming out on top. Danzig keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Laine swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Danzig. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! A solid leg kick lands there for Laine.

Danzig ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Laine moves away. Jab by Laine. Laine's corner calls for a 1-2. Laine obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range. Danzig takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it. Danzig throws an overhand right that lands on Laine's shoulder, as Laine tries to avoid the shot. Danzig uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Laine. Laine chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Danzig can pounce on him.
Danzig misses with a double jab
and Laine counters with a stiff right hand. Laine throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Danzig moves out of range as Laine strikes. Laine cracks a nice hook into Danzig's ribs. Danzig throws the left hand but Laine avoids the punch easily. Danzig thows a left - swing and a miss!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Laine connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son. Laine lands a right hook to the body.
Danzig throws out a token jab with nothing on it. A jab from Laine misses. Danzig tries to move into range but Laine moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Laine throws a leg kick and Danzig makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Laine really felt that one! Danzig with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Laine to score with a decent uppercut. Laine lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw. Danzig swings away with a body shot that misses
and Laine counters with a left and a right... And another left! Danzig is down! He's done! The ref dives in to save him and that's the end of the fight!
