Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Troy Derren (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jay Franklin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Derren comes to the cage accompanied by Click Click Boom. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Derren has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Franklin. Derren looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
Franklin shoots in and bounces Derren off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Franklin advances to half guard.
Franklin stands up and beckons Derren to join him on the feet.

Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Franklin slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Franklin in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Franklin throwing strikes but missing. Franklin throws a big right hand that misses.

Franklin drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Franklin jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

and Franklin counters with a takedown into side control. Derren trying to remain calm as Franklin controls from the top position. Franklin scores with punches from side control. Franklin scoring with punches and elbows. Franklin slows the pace down. Derren avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Franklin. Franklin sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Derren is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Franklin decides to take the fight back to the feet.

 That's two minutes gone in the round. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Franklin lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Franklin punishing his opponent with strikes. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Franklin has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Derren's face.
Oooooh, big shot lands for Franklin! Derren is hurt baaadly! Franklin is firing away with more strikes - Derren is covering up... the ref is warning him to do something. He's just covering up though still and the ref has to step in to end the fight! This one is all over!

 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! madureira scores to the head and body with a nice combination! madureira tries to bum rush Juice with a series of wild strikes but Juice uses good footwork to avoid the assault. madureira connects with a solid leg kick. Juice stuffs the takedown attempt from madureira. madureira gets slowly back to his feet. Juice fakes a jab and throws a low kick but madureira checks it well. madureira tries to close the distance and clinch up but Juice swats him away and circles back towards the center. madureira tries to clinch up. madureira shoots in for a takedown but Juice shows good takedown defense. madureira is looking to clinch but Juice is avoiding it.
madureira looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Juice is fending him off so far but madureira persists. Nope, Juice circles away and we're back to standing. Juice bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. madureira is pushing Juice's head away, looking to escape. Juice manages to hold on to the position though. Juice lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear madureira down.

Juice thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Juice slows the pace down. Juice throwing strikes but missing, from side control. Juice landing with strikes to the head and body from side control. Juice wants to lay and pray for a moment but madureira keeps working. madureira manages to work his way to half guard, despite Juice's best efforts. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! madureira wants to get back to full guard.

 That's three minutes gone in the round. Juice throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. madureira avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Juice. Juice not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
 It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Juice gets in close and instigates a clinch. Juice lands a right hand that snaps the head of madureira backwards. Juice drops down looking for an ankle pick but madureira pulls his leg out and moves away.

and Juice counters with a takedown into side control. madureira is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here. madureira can't do much from the bottom here.
Juice tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Juice has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Juice is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but madureira is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. madureira is not content to let Juice control the position. You can see the frustration on madureira's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. madureira avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Juice. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. madureira is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. madureira wants to control but Juice is keeping busy and won't allow it. And that�s the end of the round � the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that diego madureira will probably get the nod. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Juice cracks madureira with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

and Juice counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in madureira's guard now. Juice throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as madureira works some decent striking defense from the bottom. madureira is trying to keep Juice in close.

Masahuku comes to the cage accompanied by Saltarello by Dead Can Dance. Makin comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Shinedown - Simple Man kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Erik Makin told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Masahuku tries to clinch up but Makin circles away and keeps his distance. Makin swings for the body but Masahuku moves out of range.
Masahuku wants to clinch up but Makin keeps it at a distance. Makin misses with a wild body shot. Makin lands with a nice body punch. Makin tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Masahuku was well out of range. Poor timing from Makin. Masahuku takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. Masahuku wants to clinch. Makin fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Masahuku looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Masahuku walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. Makin takes a swing at Masahuku's ribcage but misses. Makin rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Masahuku moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
 That's one minute gone in the round. The fight stays on the outside here - Masahuku looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Erik Makin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Makin scores with a body shot.

Makin with a body punch. A glancing blow. Masahuku takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Makin uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Masahuku has time to react. Makin scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Makin scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Masahuku doesn't seem bothered though. Masahuku is breathing heavily. Makin misses with a jab, cross combination.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. Makin lands a jab to Masahuku's midsection. Masahuku tries to close the distance and clinch but Makin swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Makin misses the shot to the body. Some wild striking there from Makin.

Makin looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Makin passes easily into side control. Nice work. Masahuku can't do much from the bottom here. Masahuku is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Masahuku is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Makin off and has taken his back! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Makin is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Masahuku gets his way!

 That's four minutes gone in the round. Makin passes into half guard. Makin throwing shots but Masahuku is blocking nicely. Masahuku wants to get back to full guard. Makin is thwarting Masahuku's attempts to control the position. Masahuku is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Makin is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. Masahuku is looking to improve his position.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Griffin throws a lazy right hand but Milkington sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Milkington moves forwards but Griffin connects with a nice, crisp jab. Griffin throws an overhand right that lands on Milkington's shoulder, as Milkington tries to avoid the shot. Griffin takes a shot right to the bread basket. Nice shot lands for Milkington.
 It looks like Randy Griffin has been cut. Griffin lands a jab to the head.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Milkington is pressing down on Griffin's thigh, looking to free his foot. Griffin is holding on for now. Milkington frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Griffin on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Griffin tries to get out of the position. Milkington fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

Oh Griffin is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Milkington lands a big shot to the head and Griffin winces in pain. He's tapped out due to strikes!

 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Tudor fails to land the takedown. Nice takedown defense from Red. No joy for Tudor on that attempt. A combination from Red does no damage. Tudor jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Red manages to avoid the submission attempt. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Red can do anything to dispel that myth.

Red tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Tudor wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Red gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there! Tudor lands a big elbow. Tudor with a couple of short strikes. Tudor with shots to the head and body - Red looks very uncomfortable down there.  That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Red throws a series of strikes that have Tudor backpedaling.

Tudor throws a leg kick and Red counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Red uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Tudor.
Tudor closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Tudor lands with a right to the head. Tudor fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Tudor tries to score a body lock takedown but Red shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Red wants to get back to striking at distance but Tudor won't allow it.
Tudor has Red pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Red manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Tudor drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors. Red wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Tudor is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Red pulls him back up using the underhooks. Tudor tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Red just stands there and leans against the cage. Tudor tries for a takedown but Red manages to get underhooks.
Come on Tudor - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.

Red tries to break the clinch but Tudor is controlling the position. Red is looking to break free of the clinch but Tudor has double underhooks. A shot in the inside from Tudor. Tudor goes for a takedown in the clinch but Red prevents it.

 That's one minute gone in the round. Tudor advances nicely into full mount. Tudor has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Red takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Stone throws a right hand that WiIliams ducks under and follows up with a left that WiIliams also avoids with ease. WiIliams swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Cole breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Cole swats away the attempt to clinch by Trapp. Cole misses the jab. The crowd cheers as Cole lands an impressive looking overhand right. Trapp doesn't seem phased though.
 Trapp is rocked! Nice defenses there by Trapp. Trapp is still on wobbly legs! Can Cole finish him? Trapp slips under a jab. Cole connects with a jab, followed by a picture perfect straight right that sends Trapp to the canvas, out cold! What a finish by Cole!

Jones closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Jones lands in his opponent's guard. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Jones is pushing down on Puncharello's leg trying to pass to half guard. Puncharello is fighting to maintain full guard but Jones has managed to sneak the leg through. Jones missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Puncharello keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. Jones is trying to control the action in half guard but Puncharello is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Jones is just content to waste time from the top position. Puncharello takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Jones accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Puncharello keeping moving, preventing Jones from controlling successfully.
 That's three minutes gone in the round. Jones won't allow Puncharello to sweep him here. Jones is looking to work some ground and pound but Puncharello has wrist control.
 The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Jones on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Jones closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Puncharello trying to control but Jones postures up.

Jones trying to control the position from guard on top but Puncharello is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Jones throws and elbow that misses. Puncharello uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Jones's guard. Nice move by Puncharello! And that�s the end of the round � the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Don Puncharello will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Marcus Jones's cut. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. And we move into the final round!

Puncharello rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Jones moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Jones dips to his left and cracks Puncharello with an uppercut! Jones fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Jones might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable. Jones blocks a jab. Jones loads up on a big right hand but Puncharello slips the punch. Jones changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Puncharello tries to avoid it but Jones manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Puncharello to the ground. Puncharello escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Jones steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Puncharello. Puncharello comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
And that's the end of the fight! Don Puncharello showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Puncharello, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

9 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Shawn Carter! The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Elvis Blanc and Steve Smith.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Carter fails in his attempt to clinch. Noir works over Carter's head and body with a nice combination.
 It looks like Shawn Carter has been cut. Noir clobbers Carter with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. A cross from Noir lands.
Noir drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Carter can do anything to dispel that myth.
Noir postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Carter is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Noir, into his guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Noir looking for a sweep. Not yet Noir, not yet. Noir can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Carter controls the pace. Noir keeping moving, preventing Carter from controlling successfully. Carter stopping the sweep attempt from Noir. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Noir is on top in guard.

Noir fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Carter looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. A jab from Noir does it's job there. Noir swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Carter is looking to clinch but Noir is avoiding it.
Noir shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Carter sprawls well. Carter wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Noir gets slowly back to his feet. Carter tries to clinch but Noir is having none of it. A big right from Noir misses. Noir throws a lazy right hand but Carter sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Carter misses with a body shot
and Noir counters with a straight right hand. Carter blocks a jab. Carter is looking to take this fight into the clinch. A decent looking cross lands there for Noir. Shawn Carter is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

 The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. A swing and a miss from Noir. Noir comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Carter is breathing heavily. Carter shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down. Noir connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son. Noir lands a slapping body shot.

Noir tests Carter's chin there with a solid looking shot. Noir wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. Noir swats away the attempt to clinch by Carter. Carter on the wrong end of a nice jab. Shawn Carter is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Noir stalks Carter and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Carter's face. Carter staggers backwards, shaken. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Nice sprawl there from Carter as Noir shoots in. Noir misses with a double jab
and Carter counters by moving into the clinch. Noir lands a left hand.
Noir misses with a short punch on the inside. Noir working some nice short punches in the clinch. Carter gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head. A nice glancing elbow lands by Carter. Carter trying to control the position but instead, Noir has worked for underhooks and has pushed Carter into the cage. With the fighters clinched against the cage, Noir creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut. Noir tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Carter's elbow. Noir scores with a shoulder strike. Carter blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
 That's three minutes gone in the round. Carter blocks a punch to the side of the head.

Noir tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage. A head punch on the inside from Carter fails to land. Carter stalling in the clinch but Noir improves position. Carter missing with knees to the body.
Noir breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Noir lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw. Carter with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Noir to score with a decent uppercut. Noir is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches. Noir fakes a head shot and lands one to the body. Noir scores with a jab to the body. Carter drops his hands momentarily and Noir takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. Noir connects with the punch. Carter takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Carter has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Noir finds it's way round the side to connect with Carter's head.
 Carter is rocked! This has been an exciting period of action! Noir cracks Carter with a big right hand that sees him stumbling back against the cage! Carter falls to his knees and Noir doesn't need a second invitatation - he rushes in and fires off several unanswered shots that force the referee to stop the fight! This one is all over!
