2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Zach Degrom! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Bernardo Dimatulac! The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, Jonathan Paton and Russell Pearce.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dimatulac tries to bum rush Degrom with a series of wild strikes but Degrom uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Degrom tests Dimatulac's chin there with a solid looking shot. Dimatulac misses with a takedown attempt - Degrom sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Horrible takedown attempt by Dimatulac or perhaps it was just good defense by Degrom, which made it look bad. Dimatulac changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Degrom tries to avoid it but Dimatulac manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Degrom to the ground. Degrom escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Zach Degrom has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bernardo Dimatulac. Degrom uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Dimatulac has time to react. Dimatulac fails with the takedown and Degrom counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
It looks like Bernardo Dimatulac has been cut. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Dimatulac fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Degrom avoids it really well and circles away. Dimatulac tries to move into range but Degrom moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.

Degrom has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Fight Farm in the buildup to the fight. Dimatulac shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Degrom but Degrom pushes him off and we're back to square one. Degrom falls off balance throwing a combination
and Dimatulac counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Dimatulac in particular looking to stall. Dimatulac is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Dimatulac is pressing down on Degrom's thigh, looking to free his foot. Degrom is holding on for now.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight. Thompson looks to land a combination. Henderson sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots. Thompson has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. Thompson misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
A counter left hand to the body from Henderson misses its target. Thompson loads up on a big right hand but Henderson slips the punch. Henderson went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected. Thompson closes the distance but Henderson moves to the side and Henderson connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Salmon throws a lazy uppercut
and Favero counters with a left and a right that stings Salmon. Favero dives in and scores a takedown into Salmon's guard. Salmon is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Favero defends well. Salmon looking for a guillotine here but Favero defends easily.
Favero in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Salmon is looking for a triangle but Favero pushes his legs off easily.
Favero preventing the sweep. Favero makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Favero is looking to work some ground and pound but Salmon has wrist control. Salmon has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Favero should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Salmon has tightened it up now! Favero should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Slippery Salmon! After winning the bout, Slippery Salmon thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.

He's pushed Bravo's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Horrible takedown attempt by Bravo or perhaps it was just good defense by Winkleton, which made it look bad. Winkleton moves into the clinch. Bravo misses with an elbow over the top. Bravo is looking to take this one to the mat. Tomias Winkleton has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Edger Bravo. Winkleton tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Bravo cranks the arm and Winkleton screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Winkleton, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Watson swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Shark counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Shark passes to side control. You can see the frustration on Watson's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Shark tries to advance to mount but can't. Shark is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Watson is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Shark has knee on belly and moves into mount. Watson is bucking up trying to escape but Shark cracks him with another couple of good strikes. Watson wants to hold on but Shark pushes him away. Watson is squirming around, avoiding Shark's attempts to control the action. Shark takes Watson's back. Could be looking for a rear naked choke here - either way, Watson is in trouble. Shark is punishing Watson with some ground and pound.
That's one minute gone in the round. Shark looking for the RNC. Shark working for the choke. Shark looking to break Watson's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Watson remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Shark will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke! Shark working for the choke. Watson manages to reverse the position and now he's in Shark's guard. Nice work there by Watson.
Watson with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. It looked like Shark was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit. Watson dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Shark shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Watson but Watson pushes him off and we're back to square one. Watson misses with a combination
and Shark counters with a nice double leg into side control. Watson won't be happy with that. Land Shark overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Watson throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done! Shark closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Watson quickly recovers to half guard. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Watson trying to hold on to Shark's head to control him but Shark postures up.

Watson doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Shark. Shark is looking to take a break and control but Watson is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Watson is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Watson makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Watson. Shark is pushing down on Watson's leg trying to pass to half guard. Watson is fighting to maintain full guard but Shark has managed to sneak the leg through.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Shark winds up and cracks Watson with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Shark takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Shark is working for a submission of some sort.

Bakaj lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Draco circles away quickly and effectively. Draco half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range. He catches Spray napping and manages to drive through into side control! Brown wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Spray, who protects the arm well. Brown tries to advance to mount but Spray denies him. Spray knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Brown on the ground. Brown is looking to take a break and control but Spray is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Brown is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully. Brown postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
That's one minute gone in the round. Brown tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it. Brown is trying to get an arm triangle but Spray is defending well. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Red goes for a double leg but Buddha avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Buddha continues to drive forward. Buddha throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Buddha defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Red. Red tries to clinch there but Buddha circles away.
Red throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Buddha's waist but Buddha gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Red off to one side. Ghandi Buddha has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of George Red. Buddha jabs Red to the body, keeping him at a distance. Wood takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Bandit working his ground and pound in the gym. So far it seems to be working well. Camille taking shots to the head.

The Bandit dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
No luck with that takedown attempt from Bandit. The Bandit is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. A lazy left from Camille finds it's target. Camille swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Bandit tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away. Bandit moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. Camille throws a nice inside leg kick. Bandit has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Camille leaves Bandit with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. It looked like Camille wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit. Camille keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.

You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Camille holds on and takes a little breather. After winning the bout, The Bandit thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
