The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Pitakaka misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Pitakaka throws a lazy body kick and Laoka counters with a thumping low kick. Jab by Laoka. Pitakaka throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Pitakaka throws a sloppy head kick and Laoka moves out of range easily. Pitakaka swings away with a leg kick that misses. Laoka moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. Laoka tests Pitakaka's chin there with a solid looking shot.
It looks like Elijah Pitakaka has been cut. A head kick misses from Pitakaka. Laoka moves in looking to clinch but Pitakaka pushes him off. Pitakaka misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Laoka lands with an overhand left. Laoka closes the distance and clinches. Laoka scores a nice knee to the body.
Pitakaka looks winded! The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Laoka lands with a short punch from the clinch.
Laoka lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage. Laoka lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage. With the fighters clinched against the cage, Laoka creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut. Laoka landing knees to the head.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Arnold uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Shlemenko.
Arnold misses with a hook. Shlemenko ducked under it nicely. Shlemenko ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. Shlemenko shoots in looking for a takedown. Arnold tries to sprawl out of it but Shlemenko keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Arnold manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Shlemenko moves to clinch but Arnold breaks away enabling Arnold to counter with a crisp jab. Arnold misses with a straight left. Shlemenko wants to clinch. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Shlemenko wants to clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Shlemenko tries to clinch but Arnold is having none of it. Arnold throws a big counter head kick but Shlemenko avoids it with no problem. Arnold displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Shlemenko throws out the jab. Shlemenko has managed to clinch.

Arnold was covering up waiting for the punch and Shlemenko finishes the takedown easily into guard. Arnold is wriggling around but Shlemenko manages to pass to half guard.

He's up against the cage, ducking and weaving under Shlemenko's strikes but an uppercut finds it's way through and Arnold falls! - He's completely out of it and the ref jumps in to save him!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rawlings scores with a decent looking hook. Rawlings throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Rawlings bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Rawlings sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Santana is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Rawlings advances to mount. Santana tries to reverse the position but Rawlings maintains control. Rawlings postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Santana looks a forlorn figure.
Santana is in all sorts of trouble here.

Rawlings lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Santana with a hook. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Santana wants to land a leg kick but Rawlings is out of range. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Pain takes a shot right to the bread basket. Pain tries to score a power double leg takedown but Keene sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Pain somewhat. Keene lunges at Pain with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Pain's hand. Pain tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Keene paws at him with a jab and circles away. Pain throws a head kick that lands with a deafening thwack! The crowd roars as Keene stumbles backwards and falls to the mat. Pain follows into mount!
Keene is rocked!
It looks like Scott Keene has been cut. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Pain throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Keene because Pain loaded up on that one. Keene is still in real trouble! Can Pain finish him? Pain misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
Pain drops a big elbow. That's hurt Keene! More shots from Pain and the ref steps in! The fight is over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:46 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Royal Pain! Royal Pain retains his lightweight title! Royal Pain very nearly forgot to thank Sportivité amongst all the excitement of his win but just as the interview came to a close, he screamed their name.
