With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Antonio Alivero!
The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Daniel Cesar and Thiago Cunha.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alivero avoids a punch combination nicely.
Ricardo Arona seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Arona moves out of range of the strikes.
Arona misses with a few strikes there.
Alivero misses with a double jab.
Alivero missing with a left hand there. Arona was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Arona will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Alivero tries to clinch up but Arona circles away and keeps his distance.
Nice straight punches there by Arona. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Arona.
Alivero is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Arona.
Arona misses with a double jab
and Alivero counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Arona smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Arona throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Alivero.
Alivero pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Alivero dodges the punch combination from Arona.
Alivero tries to clinch up.
Alivero ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Arona ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Arona swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
letting Alivero counter with a right hand.
Arona misses with a two punch combination.
Alivero looks to land a right hand but Arona moved out of range.

Arona throws a series of punches but Alivero avoids them all with ease.
Arona takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.

Alivero catches Arona with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!

It looks like Ricardo Arona has been cut.
Alivero moves in looking to clinch but Arona pushes him off.
Arona throws a lazy right hand but Alivero sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Arona scores with a one two! Alivero had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Alivero bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
The fighters circling - Alivero throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Alivero tries to clinch there but Arona circles away.
Alivero moves out of range of the strikes.
A swing and a miss from Alivero.
Alivero throws a looping overhand right but Arona ducks down to avoid it.
Arona misses with a combination
and Alivero counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Alivero gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Arona rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Alivero moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Arona misses with a few strikes there.
Arona takes one on the button.
Arona misses with a shot to the body
and Alivero counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Arona is breathing heavily.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd cheers as Alivero lands an impressive looking overhand right. Arona doesn't seem phased though.
Arona takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Alivero throws a lazy right hand but Arona sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Alivero misses with a jab to the body
and Alivero takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Arona uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Alivero.
Alivero tries to clinch up but Arona circles away and keeps his distance.

Alivero has managed to clinch.
Alivero misses with a punch to the body.
Arona wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Alivero scores with an uppercut up the middle.
Alivero cracks Arona with a nice body shot.
Arona is trying to force a seperation but Alivero has the dominant position.
Alivero tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Alivero pushes Arona back against the cage and unloads with a body punch.
Alivero lands a body punch in the clinch.

Alivero breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Alivero tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Arona was well out of range. Poor timing from Alivero.
Arona defending well as Alivero loads up on a big left hand.
Arona takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Alivero swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Alivero lands a nice shot that snaps Arona's head back.
Alivero throws a monster overhand right that drops Arona! Alivero follows up with more strikes from mount and the fight is all over!
