0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Gregorio Ruiz! The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, William Gold and Donald Grub.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ruiz will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Ruiz tries for a takedown but Time circles away easily enabling Time to counter with a crisp jab.
It looks like Gregorio Ruiz has been cut. Ruiz misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
The fighters circling - Time throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Time throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Time connects with a body shot. Time lands with a shot to the body. Time scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Ruiz on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Ruiz is rocked! The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Ruiz leaves his chin hanging out and Time seizes the opportunity with an uppercut! Ruiz crumbles to the floor in a heap! The referee steps in and tends to the downed fighter! What a knockout!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Palmer takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Balls lands a jab to the nose. Balls lands a left and a right that send Palmer crashing to the mat, dazed. Balls thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Palmer is rocked! Palmer tries to clinch up but Balls circles away and keeps his distance. Palmer is still on wobbly legs! Can Balls finish him? Balls fakes a right and follows up with a big left that drops Palmer to one knee - oooooh, he's wobbly! Palmer looks to clinch but Balls throws him off and pummels him into the canvas! Palmer taps out under the strikes! The fight is over!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A momentary lapse in concentration from TeppenGym enables Bagueirau to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. TeppenGym manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Bagueirau won't allow TeppenGym to get back to his feet. TeppenGym wants to sweep here but Bagueirau controlling him for the moment. Bagueirau controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Bagueirau won't allow TeppenGym to sweep him here. TeppenGym looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Bagueirau puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard. Bagueirau keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Bagueirau passes the guard and advances to mount! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. TeppenGym reaches up to try and control the position but Bagueirau seems to have an arm triangle now! Uh oh! TeppenGym rolls and tries to escape and now Bagueirau has his back!
That's one minute gone in the round. TeppenGym wants to escape the position.
TeppenGym is in a world of trouble here. He's outmatched on the ground here and he'd better get Bagueirau off his back sharpish unless he wants to be submitted. Bagueirau biding his time, controlling TeppenGym. Bagueirau seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down TeppenGym for as long as he can get away with. Bagueirau seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. TeppenGym is trying to get back to his feet but Bagueirau has full control of the position and if anything, TeppenGym has just worked his way into a worse spot. TeppenGym is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.
TeppenGym told us pre-fight that he has been working on his escapes in training. Let's see if he can call on some of his new skills to get back to his feet. TeppenGym is really stuck here.
TeppenGym trying to control the hands but Bagueirau won't let him. Bagueirau is working for the choke. He's slipped one arm under the chin. TeppenGym has to defend the other arm for all he's worth... but Bagueirau has managed to get that arm free too and he's tightening the choke! TeppenGym taps out and looks absolutely disgusted with himself. Bagueirau doesn't care though - he's delighted!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Sildosoves Bagueirau! A very excited looking Sildosoves Bagueirau rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Collins wants to clinch up but Machida keeps it at a distance. Machida has closed the distance and engaged Collins in a clinch.
Still in the clinch, Collins scores with a nice short uppercut. Machida blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Machida is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. Machida changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Collins fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Machida wants to clinch up but Collins keeps it at a distance. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! A jab from Machida misses. Collins moves into range and clinches up with Machida. Collins has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Machida avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Machida swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Machida is trying to break the clinch but Collins has him pressed against the cage. Machida tries to circle away but Collins has him pinned against the cage. Collins blocks a punch to the side of the head.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Machida is in close to Collins's body, working some short punches and elbows. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Collins is on top in guard.
Collins would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Collins must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Collins trying to control but Machida is working from the bottom. Machida has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Machida is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.

Machida is controlling Collins's posture. Machida bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Collins's guard. Collins wants to get back to his feet but Machida passes into half guard.

Machida really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Machida seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Machida wants to lay and pray for a moment but Collins keeps working. Machida landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.

I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Machida connects with a nice short shot to Collins's temple. Ground and pound from Machida. Machida looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Collins with a short hammerfist. That looks like it's hurt Collins quite badly. Collins pulls Machida in close trying to recover. Machida postures up and lands two really hard shots that put Collins on queer street! The ref takes a look and decides to call an end to the fight! Possibly an early stoppage but Collins doesn't seem to be complaining too much.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Lyodo Machida! Our winner, Lyodo Machida, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.

Takashi shoots and misses and Shelby cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Takashi decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Takashi takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Shelby is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Takashi scores with a couple of nice shots. That was a very nice submission by Shelby.

Punch Drunk has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Hunter Smith. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Romero fails to land the takedown. Romero fails with the takedown. Romero is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Bussa's half guard. Bussa wants to control but Romero is keeping busy.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Bussa is looking to escape. Bussa on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Bussa taking some punishment here, with Romero in his half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Romero works his way into full mount! Romero with shots to the head and body - Bussa looks very uncomfortable down there. Romero with the ground and pound from mount. Romero jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Bussa manages to avoid the submission attempt. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Bussa can do anything to dispel that myth. Romero cracks Bussa with an elbow. That is naaassty. Romero has hold of Bussa's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Bussa tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Romero cranks the arm and Bussa screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Bussa, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:54 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Joel Romero! An out of breath Joel Romero thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
