Ellison Jr kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is i aint never scared. Dowiyogo has chosen another life - kano as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Anthony Ellison Jr.

Grover Dowiyogo decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.

Will he stop it?? One more big shot from Grieg and the ref steps in to end the fight! Grieg can't hide his delight as he celebrates with his corner.

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Brian Hardy (ranked 2861 p4p, 299 weight class) and Daniel Mouwanga (ranked 2624 p4p, 282 weight class). Mouwanga has chosen Welcome to the Jungle as his entrance music. Brian Hardy had real problems making weight for this fight. After initially coming in at 172.0lbs, he had two hours to make the official fight weight. He made it but it will have taken a lot out of him to cut those extra few pounds. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Kagonbo is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Voodoo. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Tong Po!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Bismack Kagonbo!
The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Albert Achterberg and Wagner Zegers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kagonbo works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Kagonbo throws a body punch but Po moves out of range.
A head kick from Kagonbo lands but Po takes it in his stride.
Kagonbo swings widly with a right hand
and Kagonbo takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

Po clinches.
Po doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Kagonbo blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
I was talking to Po's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
Kagonbo wants to break free but Po has control.
Po's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

Po tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.

Po darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Po looks to land a right hand but Kagonbo moved out of range.
Kagonbo takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Po displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Kagonbo throws out the jab.

Po lands a big head kick that sends Kagonbo tumbling to the mat! Po takes a step backwards and waves Kagonbo back to his feet - he wants the finish!

Kagonbo is rocked!
Po finds Kagonbo's off switch, with a big overhand right that connects perfectly to the side of the head! Kagonbo flops back against the cage, eyes gazing into the distance. Po lands an unnecessary shot before the referee has time to step in and end the fight. Brutal stuff but I'm sure Kagonbo will be OK.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:30 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Tong Po!
During a confident post fight interview, Tong Po thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
The defeated Bismack Kagonbo had this to say: 'Breathes heavily....growls...'.
