 The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Evans is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Machida's half guard. Evans takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Machida is trying to control but can't.
Evans looks to score some points with some ground and pound. Machida is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Evans scores with a couple of nice shots. Evans working Machida over with strikes. Evans is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.

 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cole fails with an attempt to clinch.
Lesnar tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Cole swivels and escapes.
Lesnar closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Lesnar lands in his opponent's guard. Cole is looking to stand up but Lesnar isn't so interested in that idea. Lesnar has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Cole is on top in guard.
Cole wants to get up but he can't break Lesnar's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Cole gets to his feet. Lesnar looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Horrible takedown by Lesnar or perhaps it was just good defense by Cole which made him look bad.
Cole gets in close and instigates a clinch. Lesnar is looking for a takedown up against the ropes. Cole gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Brock Lesnar. That's going to take a lot out of him. A hook to the body from Cole.

Cole tries to close the distance and clinch up against the ropes but Lesnar paws at him with a jab and circles away. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Lesnar takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Cole is trying to control but can't.

I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Lesnar connects with a nice short shot to Cole's temple. Cole has momentary wrist control but Lesnar slips an elbow through the middle. Lesnar with a nice head shot there. Lesnar with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Lesnar working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Cole's head. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Lesnar accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Lesnar postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Lesnar is looking to work some ground and pound but Cole has wrist control.
 It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Cole stuffs the takedown. Cole slaps away a takedown attempt from Lesnar, before circling back to the center of the mat.

That was a close round but I would say that Brock Lesnar will probably get the nod. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the ring so we can get back down to business.

Cole takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position. Cole wants to control but Lesnar is having none of it. The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Lesnar cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Brock Lesnar. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Lesnar, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent.  It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Edwards looks to land a combination but Jones avoids it well. Jones moves out of range of the body kick. Jones is trying hard to land a takedown here. Edwards sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Edwards scores with a jab to the body. Jones shoots for a double leg takedown but Edwards sprawls well. He's pushed Jones's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Edwards scoring well with a low kick there.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Edwards throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Jones's head. Yves Edwards has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Jones crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Edwards - the referee stops the clock and Jones gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Edwards . Jones manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

Taylor looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Diaz! A nice elbow there by Taylor. Diaz really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Taylor. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Taylor with a couple of short strikes. Taylor has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Taylor lands a nice shot to the head. Taylor has his opponent pinned against the ropes, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Diaz's face.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. and Gracie counters with a thumping low kick. Gracie misses with a hook. Gomi ducked under it nicely. Gracie ducks down and throws a hook to the body. Gomi drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles. Gomi walks into a left hand.
 Gomi is rocked! I'm just looking down at my notes here and I see that.... oh! Gracie has cracked Gomi with a big right, followed by a left! He's out on his feet! Gracie lands another huge swinging hook and Gomi tumbles to the canvas! The ref dives in to save Gomi, before Gracie can land any more shots!
