Di Pietro dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Marcell. That did some damage!
Marcell gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Di Pietro counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Di Pietro lands a leg kick that knocks Marcell off balance momentarily.
Di Pietro slaps away a takedown attempt from Marcell, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Di Pietro lands a nice leg kick that just misses Marcell's sensitive parts.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Di Pietro cracks Marcell with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Marcell looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Di Pietro finish him?
It looks like Niko Marcell has been cut.

Di Pietro moves away from the strike by Marcell.

Di Pietro tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Di Pietro feints and then cracks Marcell's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Marcell down.
Di Pietro throws a hook to the side of Marcell's head but Marcell sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Marcell steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Di Pietro.
Di Pietro fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Marcell has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Di Pietro stuffs the takedown attempt from Marcell. Marcell gets slowly back to his feet.
Tomy Di Pietro has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Niko Marcell.
Di Pietro lands a big uppercut and Marcell crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Marcell looks OK. Di Pietro waves Marcell back to his feet!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Di Pietro pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Di Pietro throws a head kick but Marcell moves out of range.
Marcell tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
Marcell is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Di Pietro lands with a big left! Marcell is wobbled badly! Di Pietro comes in with a flurry of punches and drops Marcell to the floor. The ref jumps in to save him from unneccessary punishment.

After the fight, Tomy Di Pietro was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
