Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bogdan Uzun (ranked 22286 p4p, 212 weight class) and Chael Ronnen (ranked 8353 p4p, 111 weight class). Uzun kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is "Trogdor the Burninator" by Strong Bad. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ronnen throws a combination that misses and Uzun counters with an inside leg kick. Uzun gets a takedown into half guard. Uzun seems to be working for a kimura but Ronnen defends the submission attempt. Uzun missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Uzun lands strikes from half guard. Uzun is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. Uzun lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Uzun working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Uzun looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Ronnen with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Uzun looks to land a strike but Ronnen avoids it nicely and regains full guard. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Uzun is looking to work some ground and pound but Ronnen has wrist control.

Uzun wants to pass the guard but Ronnen is keeping the position. Uzun postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Uzun makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Uzun throws a strike but Ronnen rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Ronnen works over Uzun with some ground and pound from guard. Uzun had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Ronnen defends it easily. Ronnen scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Ronnen lands a couple of elbows. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Uzun is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Ronnen wants to control from the top but Uzun keeps moving. Ronnen postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Ronnen missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Ronnen working some strikes from top position.
Bogdan Uzun's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it. Ronnen throws a strike but Uzun rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Uzun postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Ronnen is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Uzun, into his guard. Ronnen throws an elbow that misses. Uzun uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Ronnen's guard. Nice move by Uzun! Uzun throws a strike but Ronnen rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Ronnen lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Jeez, Bogdan Uzun's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bornholm lands with a good body shot. Viteazul shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Bornholm defends it nicely. Bornholm moves into range and lands a nice body kick.
Viteazul scores with a takedown into Bornholm's guard. Bornholm pulls Viteazul in close to prevent any damage. Viteazul won't allow Bornholm to get back to his feet. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Bornholm is controlling Viteazul's posture. We've been hearing good reports from Viteazul's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today. Bornholm's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. Viteazul throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Bornholm works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bornholm has momentary wrist control but Viteazul slips an elbow through the middle. Bornholm pulls Viteazul in close to prevent any damage. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Bornholm looking to hit a scissor sweep but Viteazul is one step ahead there. Bornholm is pulling down on Viteazul's head. It's preventing any offense from Viteazul, at least for the moment. Bornholm will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Bornholm connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt. Good leg kick by Bornholm there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

Bornholm looks to land a body kick but Viteazul moved away. Bornholm bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Viteazul's head backwards. Bornholm tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Viteazul seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Viteazul. And an attempted straight right on the counter from Bornholm! But no joy. Daniel Bornholm seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Viteazul checks a leg kick. Nice jab there from Bornholm.

Bornholm throws a wild body kick that Viteazul sees coming a mile off. Bornholm lands a big head kick that sends Viteazul to the canvas! Bornholm follows up with strikes from the mount that forces the ref to step in and stop the fight!

Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Rogan on a fantastic submission victory.

and Cousins counters with a right hand to the body. Cousins looks to score with a jab to the body but Figg is just out of range. Figg rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Cousins counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Cousins bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Figg's head. Cousins wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Figg looks winded! Cousins throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Oooooh!!! Cousins has knocked Figg down with a huge combo! Cousins steps away and waves a wobbly Figg back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!

It looks like Raycon Figg has been cut. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Cousins Throws a clean left jab. Cousins Twirls his body and connects with a Spinning Back Fist that connects flush with Figg's chin! Figg crumbles to the ground and Cousins follows up with some unanswered strikes. It's all over!! Nice standup skills displayed by Cousins!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Locastro jabs at Giroux's body. Jeremy Locastro seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Nice body punch from Locastro. A looping hook to the body misses from Giroux. Locastro does a little dance to reset his feet. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Locastro moves out of range as Giroux strikes. Locastro looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Locastro throws a nice outside leg kick. Giroux misses with a right hand and Locastro counters with an outside leg kick.
Giroux misses with an uppercut. A good leg kick by Locastro. Giroux moves out of range of the body kick. Locastro changes levels and scores with a jab to the body. Locastro has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. Giroux on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those. Locastro slips a straight right by Giroux. Locastro feints and then cracks Giroux's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Giroux down. Giroux throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
This has been an exciting period of action! Locastro lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range. Giroux fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Locastro manages to avoid it. Giroux jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.

That's one minute gone in the round. Locastro uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Giroux has time to react. Giroux throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Locastro. Giroux shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. Locastro thuds his right hand into Giroux's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters. Locastro throws a head kick that half lands.

Locastro clobbers Giroux with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. Locastro connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Giroux's hands. Giroux with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Locastro to score with a decent uppercut. Locastro is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Giroux had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Giroux throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Locastro uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Giroux. Locastro throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land. An attempted straight right counter from Giroux misses the target.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Giroux tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Locastro paws at him with a jab and circles away. Locastro ducks under a wild hook from Giroux. Locastro swings and misses with a hook to the body.

Giroux looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio. Locastro takes a swing at Giroux's ribcage but misses. Giroux is really struggling to find his range with his punches. Locastro's reach advantage is clearly causing him problems. Giroux tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Locastro paws at him with a jab and circles away. Giroux is looking to clinch. Giroux fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Locastro looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Locastro buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Giroux fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Locastro manages to avoid it. Locastro connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Giroux throws a body punch but Locastro moves out of range. Giroux chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Locastro can pounce on him.

It looks like Dick Diaz has been cut. Diaz throws a hook to the side of Baldwin's head but Baldwin sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. We've been hearing reports that Diaz has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight. Diaz thows a left - swing and a miss! Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Baldwin.
Diaz tries to clinch up and Baldwin counters with a good, hard body kick but Diaz shrugs it off. A nice leg kick lands there from Baldwin. That was a close round but I would say that Mark Kerr will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Gattsu Emelianenko's cut. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

It seemed like Emelianenko was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Emelianenko blocks a jab. Emelianenko doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter. Kerr thows a left - swing and a miss! Gattsu Emelianenko seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Kerr avoids a punch combination nicely.

Kerr is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Emelianenko can do to turn this around? This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Emelianenko tries to get back to half guard but can't. Kerr controlling from the full mount. Kerr looking to control but Emelianenko is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Emelianenko wants to hold on but Kerr pushes him away. Kerr fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

Kerr wants to take a breather but Emelianenko is having none of it. Kerr throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing Emelianenko to regain full guard. Kerr looking to sit in guard and control but Emelianenko gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Kerr pulls Emelianenko in close to prevent any damage.

Emelianenko thuds his right hand into Kerr's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters. Nice uppercut there from Emelianenko. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Emelianenko misses the shot to the body.

Kerr has not gone for a single takedown so far in this fight, which seems like a very strange tactic when you consider that he has the superior wrestling and BJJ. Emelianenko misses with a hook. Mark Kerr is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Kerr throws a lazy uppercut
