We've been hearing reports that Makana has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Makana shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Griffin but Griffin pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Griffin now looks to counter with a shot at the body.
Makana goes for a double leg but Griffin avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Griffin continues to drive forward.
As Makana backs off Griffin throws a huge counter combo but Makana manages to avoid it all.
Makana shoots in looking for a takedown. Griffin tries to sprawl out of it but Makana keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Griffin manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Lei Makana. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Some people will probably question the ref's decision but Makana was definitely hurt and the ref saved him from taking unnecessary punishment. A fighter's safety is paramount in this sport.

Yoel Mir decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
