Blackbeard was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit. Aoki throws a body shot but no joy. Blackbeard keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.

Blackbeard sends Aoki crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Blackbeard is motioning to the referee to let Aoki up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet! Aoki is still on wobbly legs! Can Blackbeard finish him? Aoki's coach down at Temp Spar Gym was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Aoki's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight. This has been an exciting period of action! Aoki tries for a takedown but Blackbeard circles away easily and Blackbeard counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Aoki thinking. Blackbeard drops Aoki with a straight right hand, right on the button! Blackbeard follows him down to the mat and pounds him out with hammerfists until the referee jumps in to end the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:54 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Duke Blackbeard! Our winner, Duke Blackbeard, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.

Sit Hirun instigates a clinch. A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors. Sit Hirun presses Gracie Jr against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot. A short body shot lands from Sit Hirun as the two fighters clinch.
Sit Hirun breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Sit Hirun scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent. Gracie Jr misses with a hook to the body
and Sit Hirun counters with a nice uppercut.

And Gracie Jr tries to counter it with a takedown but Sit Hirun pushes his down on his head and steps out. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Sit Hirun with a body punch. A glancing blow. Nice cross by Sit Hirun. Sit Hirun connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Gracie Jr's hands. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Sit Hirun throws a shot to the body.
Apidej Sit Hirun seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Sit Hirun lands a left and a right that send Gracie Jr crashing to the mat, dazed. Sit Hirun thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet! Gracie Jr is still on wobbly legs! Can Sit Hirun finish him? The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. A big left from Gracie Jr misses.
Sit Hirun feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Gracie Jr sprawling to the canvas! Gracie Jr rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Sit Hirun finish him?!
BOOM! Sit Hirun lands a beautiful left hook that drops Gracie Jr. Gracie Jr tries to recover but Sit Hirun is having none of it, landing more punishing shots from mount. One final crushing shot and Gracie Jr lies motionless on the canvas. The fight is over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:19 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Apidej Sit Hirun! After the fight, Apidej Sit Hirun was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.

Hewitt darts in looking for a takedown but Lorlek gets double underhooks and turns Hewitt into the cage. Lorlek lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected. Hewitt fails with the takedown. Lorlek throws out a counter right but Hewitt avoids it with no problem. Lorlek scores with a jab. Hewitt acknowledges it with a nod of the head. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Lorlek lands a left and a right that send Hewitt crashing to the mat, dazed. Lorlek thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet! The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Lorlek feints with a jab and clips Hewitt right behind the ear with a massive overhand right! Hewitt is sent crashing into the canvas and Lorlek leaps in for the kill! Hewitt tries to get to his feet but Lorlek is just battering him from every conceivable angle. The ref decides that Hewitt is in need of a savior and steps in!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:52 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Put Lorlek! Put Lorlek decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.

Bonifacio breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Bonifacio gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Ellison to score an easy takedown into full guard. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Bonifacio pulls Ellison in close to his closed guard and prevents Ellison from doing any damage or advancing position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Ellison stands up and waves to Bonifacio to follow him. Korban Ellison seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Ellison tries to clinch and Bonifacio counters with a nice uppercut.

Bonifacio scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Bonifacio scores with a shot to the body.
Bonifacio connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. Ellison dives in and grabs Bonifacio's left leg, looking for a takedown. Bonifacio pushes down on Ellison's head and hops out. Ellison shoots in but Bonifacio avoids the takedown attempt easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Korban Ellison. That's going to take a lot out of him. Ellison goes for a double leg but Bonifacio avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Bonifacio continues to drive forward. Ellison tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Bonifacio swivels and escapes. Ellison has been working on his balance at Temp Spar Gym, so perhaps that has help him stuff some of the takedown attempts by Bonifacio. Ellison closes the distance and clinches up with Bonifacio, looking for a takedown. Ellison pushes Bonifacio against the cage but Bonifacio circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Bonifacio scores with a shot to the body.

Ellison dives in for a single leg takedown but Bonifacio sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Bonifacio lands a nice hook to Ellison's body. Ellison takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Bonifacio works Ellison's body with a nice hook. Bonifacio wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Bonifacio scores with a body shot.
Bonifacio lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent. Bonifacio fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Ellison looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Bonifacio keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Ellison is breathing heavily. Bonifacio swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Ellison. Ellison throws a sloppy head kick and Bonifacio moves out of range easily.

Ellison gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Bonifacio lands a nice hook to Ellison's body. Ellison takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. Bonifacio connects with a body shot. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Bonifacio circles away from the clinch attempt.

Ellison misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Bonifacio scores with a hook to the body. Ellison takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. Bonifacio looks to land a combination. Ellison sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.

Lapu throws a body shot but no joy. Arteezy looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Lapu connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt. A looping hook to the body misses from Arteezy. Lapu does a little dance to reset his feet. Arteezy takes a shot to the body in his stride.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Lapu moves away from the strike by Arteezy. Arteezy pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Lapu jabs Arteezy right on the nose. Arteezy blinks but takes it well.
