The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lee rushes Harryson and pushes him back against the ropes in a clinch. Lee keeps control of Harryson as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Lee gets control of Harryson's arms and successfully pulls guard. Lee will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. Lee has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage. Harryson wants to stand but Lee is controlling his posture from full guard. Harryson is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Lee holds on and takes a little breather. Lee is trying to keep Harryson in close.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Harryson would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Harryson got a little sloppy there for a moment and Lee has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! The bell rings for round one and we are underway! White throws a big shot that misses. Schooley tries for a takedown but White sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. White changes levels and scores with a jab to the body. White throws an overhand right that lands on Schooley's shoulder, as Schooley tries to avoid the shot. As White backs off Schooley throws a huge counter combo but White manages to avoid it all. White misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Schooley.
White misses the shot to the body. Schooley takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Schooley shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts White as he jumps to the side. We've been told by White's head coaches at Grind Time Elite {$900} that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. White with a hook. White throws a shot from downtown. Schooley moves away and avoids it. Schooley closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
That's one minute gone in the round. Schooley tries to advance to mount but White denies him. White gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard. Schooley is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and White defends it well. Schooley wants to pass to mount but White is defending the position. Schooley prevents White from improving his position. White manages to get to full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Schooley content to sit in guard, stalling... Great. Oh but he could get punished here because White has locked up a guillotine! White's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? Schooley is holding on here and White must be using up a lot of energy. Schooley has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! White gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nonbeomogov gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Handicks counters with a nice uppercut. Handicks works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance. Nonbeomogov doesn't succeed with the takedown and Handicks counters with a stiff right hand. Nonbeomogov takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Jovic Nonbeomogov seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. The fighters circle momentarily. Handicks darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. Nonbeomogov shoots in looking for a takedown. Handicks tries to sprawl out of it but Nonbeomogov keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the ropes. Handicks manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Johny Handicks has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. Cubbedge is looking wobbly and Way recognises it - he's rushed in and lands two more brutal shots that send Cubbedge to the canvas, out cold! A brutal finish to the fight - Way jumps onto the ropes to celebrate with the crowd!

and Oriola counters with a nice double leg into side control. Mack won't be happy with that. Oriola tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Oriola has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Oriola tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Oriola has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Mack! Mack is working to get back to half guard.
Oriola is looking to work his way around to Mack's back. He needs to be careful though, as he's in danger of losing this dominant position. Mack throwing hammer fists to the chest of Oriola. What's that going to do exactly? Oriola throwing shots from mount but they're not landing. Mack is wriggling around trying to escape.
Oriola is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Mack can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
