3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Donny Jones! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Alen Zalac! The judges for this bout are Thiago Cunha, Mauricio Rocha and Felipe Paraventi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jones drives through with a takedown into Zalac's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. Zalac looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! Zalac is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Jones showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Zalac controls Jones momentarily but Jones frees himself. Jones looking to control the position here, rather than advance. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Zalac trying to keep a closed guard but Jones is proving a slippery customer.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Jones seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Jones seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Zalac for as long as he can get away with. Jones is looking to advance position but Zalac won't allow it. Jones performing his best blanket impression for a moment.
That's three minutes gone in the round. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Jones definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Jones has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Jones shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Jones was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Zalac trying to remain calm as Jones controls from the top position.

God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jones misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Jones gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Zalac counters by moving into the clinch. Zalac gets a nice trip takedown into half guard. Jones is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Zalac can do to turn this around? Jones keeps control of the position for the meantime. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Zalac is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. The fighters are battling for position here. Jones manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Jones is looking for a triangle but Zalac pushes his legs off easily.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Zalac looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Jones darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jones not doing much here.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Jones wants to pass to mount but Zalac is defending the position. Jones controlling the action here. Jones is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Zalac is defending against the submission attempts here by Jones.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Jones throwing shots but Zalac is blocking nicely. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Jones thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Jones in particular looking to stall. Jones is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Donny Jones dominated that second round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!
Jones shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Zalac defends it nicely. Zalac is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here. No luck with that takedown attempt from Jones. Jones shoots in for a takedown but Zalac shows good takedown defense. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Donny Jones. That's going to take a lot out of him. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Jones rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Zalac moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Jones shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Zalac as he jumps to the side. Zalac takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
That's one minute gone in the round. Zalac fails to land the takedown. A quick step to the side and Jones tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect. Jones tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Zalac defends well and Jones ends up having to push Zalac into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Jones takes a swing at Zalac's ribcage but misses. Zalac throws out a counter right but Jones avoids it with no problem. Jones misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. It seemed like Zalac was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it. Jones closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Zalac did well to prevent Jones getting side control. Jones trying to control the pace.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jones tries to stand and escape but Zalac is controlling the position. Jones controlling the action here. Jones moves nicely into side control. Jones controlling the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jones tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Jones wants to stand but Zalac is controlling his arm. Jones is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Zalac will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already. Jones's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Jones thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Jones scoring with punches and elbows. Donny Jones is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Jones is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Zalac knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Jones taking a breather here.
And that's the end of the fight! Donny Jones showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Jones, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Oooooh!!! Nesset has knocked Carrera down with a huge combo! Nesset steps away and waves a wobbly Carrera back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!
Carrera is rocked!
It looks like Reno Carrera has been cut. A big right followed by a crushing left from Nesset knocks Carrera out cold! Ouch - that one's going to be featured in highlight reels for years to come!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:05 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Arnfinn Nesset! Reno Carrera was interviewed post fight and said 'I want to thank all my fans for supporting me, god bless you.'.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Davies cracks Slerssi with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. Slerssi misses with a body shot.
Davies takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. Slerssi misses with a body kick. Slerssi throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Slerssi avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Slerssi plants his feet and lands a nice head kick! Slerssi throws a push kick but Davies slaps the foot to one side. Slerssi throws a wild body kick that Davies sees coming a mile off. Davies moves into range and connects with a jab. Slerssi lands with a nice body kick. Jonh Slerssi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Slerssi displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Davies throws out the jab. Davies throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Slerssi throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Davies throws a leg kick but Slerssi moved away. Slerssi connects with a leg kick. Davies looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Slerssi throws a head kick that Davies semi-blocks.

That's one minute gone in the round. Slerssi throws a body kick that misses and Davies counters with a stiff right hand. A slapping body kick lands there for Slerssi. Davies throws a body kick that misses. Slerssi misses with a body kick. Slerssi throws a head kick that Davies semi-blocks.
Davies has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Slerssi. Davies is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range. Slerssi goes for a high kick. It partially lands. Slerssi gets off balance looking for a body kick and Davies counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Slerssi swings away with a body shot that misses
and Davies counters with a nice right hand that sends Slerssi toppling to the canvas! Slerssi scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Davies finish him?!
It looks like Jonh Slerssi has been cut. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Davies cracks Slerssi with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Davies has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Slerssi to stand back up!
Slerssi is rocked! Davies lands hard precision jab right on the jaw that stiffens Slerssi up and sends him tumbling to the mat! The ref grabs Davies from behind before he can pounce. Some folks in the crowd didn't like that stoppage, but I saw Slerssi's eyes roll way back in his head, he was done.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Krawlee forces Schott back against the cage and clinches. Krawlee fails to pull guard.
Schott taking a breather. Schott tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Krawlee avoids it. Krawlee has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Schott decides to pull guard. Schott working for submissions but it's allowed Krawlee to get to half guard.
Krawlee slows the pace down in half guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Krawlee missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Krawlee seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Schott could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

That's two minutes gone in the round. It looks like Krawlee might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it. Schott is defending against the submission attempts here by Krawlee.
Krawlee sitting and controlling from the half guard. Let's hope that Krawlee has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Krawlee throwing shots but Schott is blocking nicely. Krawlee works his way into side control. Schott is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Krawlee is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Krawlee is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Schott is trying to escape and Krawlee transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Schott is forced to tap! Nice work there by Krawlee! Very nice indeed!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:23 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Kreepee Krawlee! After winning the bout, Kreepee Krawlee thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
