The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Daughtrey lands a nice shot that snaps Stanky's head back.
Franky Stanky seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Stanky cracks Daughtrey with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.

It looks like Kevin Daughtrey has been cut.
Stanky takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Just Whymer (ranked 285 p4p, 40 weight class) and Jack Number (ranked 2514 p4p, 336 weight class). Number is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by This is A Film - Iggy Pop (Goran Bregovič). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

We've been told by Whymer's head coaches at Ryōzanpaku Dojo that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Number throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Whymer counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Number misses with a double jab
and Whymer counters with a one-two to the body.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Number throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Whymer misses with a kick to the body.
Whymer lands with a big left! Number is wobbled badly! Whymer comes in with a flurry of punches and drops Number to the floor. The ref jumps in to save him from unneccessary punishment.
