The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Calypso fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Malina to the ground. Calypso is now in Malina's guard.
Malina knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Calypso on the ground.

Malina working for submissions but it's allowed Calypso to get to half guard.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Calypso in particular looking to stall.
Calypso throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Malina tries to kick Calypso off but Calypso keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Esgoban looks to land a right hand but Torito moved out of range.
Torito uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Esgoban.
Esgoban tries to clinch there but Torito circles away.

Torito shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Torito showed some decent athleticism there.

Kamil Esgoban seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Torito is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Torito hooks up with any of them at the after show party.

Zusi throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Zai shoots in looking for a takedown. Zusi tries to sprawl out of it but Zai keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Zusi manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Zusi is trying to escape back to his feet but Zai uses the scramble to pass into side control.

Zai seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Zusi for as long as he can get away with.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Zusi can do anything to dispel that myth.
Zai remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

Zai is throwing strikes from the back here. Oh that last one was to the back of the head. Zai gets a warning from the referee. He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. Zai gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. Zai apologises and we restart here on the feet.
Zusi will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Zusi throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Zai.
Zai shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Zusi as he jumps to the side.
Zai seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.
