The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Brom slips a jab and a cross from Blanca.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Blanca darts in trying to clinch and Brom counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Brom walks into a jab. Blanca throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Blanca throws a series of punches but Brom avoids them all with ease. Brom connects with a looping right hand.
Brom lands with a hook. Blanca tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head. Blanca takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Brom displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Blanca throws out the jab. Brom appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body. Brom cracks Blanca with a good jab. Brom connects with a jab. Jab by Brom. Blanca tries to close the distance and clinch but Brom swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Brom is really peppering his opponent's head with punches. Brom lands with a shot to the body. Brom lands the left hand. Blanca looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Blanca is rocked! Brom throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Blanca stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Blanca is still on wobbly legs! Can Brom finish him?

Blanca seems to have recovered his senses. Blanca darts in trying to clinch and Brom counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. A jab from Brom does it's job there. Brom is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches. Blanca throws an off balance right hand

Blanca looks to score with a jab to the body but Brom is just out of range. Brom went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected. Brom pounces like a tiger and cracks Blanca with a vicious hook! Blanca is down but not out! Brom follows up with more strikes forcing the ref to jump in and stop it!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bonin lands a jab to Gonya's midsection. We've been told by Gonya's head coaches at Tycoon Gym that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. Gonya just misses with a punch to the body.
Gonya dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Bonin connects with a body shot. Gonya throws a body shot but no joy. Gonya closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Gonya misses with a punch to the body.

A head punch on the inside from Bonin fails to land. Bonin has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Bonin tries to stall but Gonya uses the opportunity to gain a better position.

Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Gonya slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. That's three minutes gone in the round. Gonya slows the pace down in half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Gonya wants to work for an arm triangle but Bonin is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Gonya thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Gonya passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Bonin! Gonya thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage. Bonin keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

Gonya working for a choke but Bonin is defending well. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Bonin is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.

Gonya pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Bonin back to the cage. Gonya follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver. William Bonin has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Gonya thuds a left hand into Bonin's body. Gonya gets a clinch. Gonya using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Bonin has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Bonin working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Gonya. Gonya trying to control the position from guard on top but Bonin is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Gonya got a little sloppy there for a moment and Bonin has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Gonya has managed to get both his arms back between Bonin's legs - danger averted. Gonya controlling from the top position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gonya wants to control from the top but Bonin keeps moving. Sivile Gonya overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Gonya wants to pass the guard but Bonin is keeping the position. Gonya trying to control but Bonin is working from the bottom. Gonya pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Bonin is keeping the position for now. Gonya is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Bonin can do to turn this around? Gonya missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Gonya accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Gonya is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Gonya trying to control but Bonin is working from the bottom. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

Bonin is pushing down on Gonya's leg trying to pass to half guard. Gonya is fighting to maintain full guard but Bonin has managed to sneak the leg through. Gonya regains full guard. Nicely done. Gonya had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Bonin defends it easily.

You can't force these things though and Bonin defends well. Bonin wanted to stand there but Gonya had control of the position. Gonya wants to sweep but no luck. Bonin stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Gonya swivels though and keeps the full guard. Gonya is looking for a guillotine. Gonya working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Bonin wants to control but Gonya postures up. Sivile Gonya is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Bonin being controlled for a moment. Gonya's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

It looks like Fred Jones has been cut. Time loads up on a big right hand but Jones slips the punch. Time keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Time let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land. Time takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Jones uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. The fighters circling - Time throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Time swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. And Jones counters with a quick kick to the body but Time blocks it. Jones tries to bum rush Time with a series of wild strikes but Time uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Time throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Jones is looking to counter the offense by Time and move into the clinch. Jones dips to his left and cracks Time with an uppercut! Time has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Jones. Jones uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Time.

That was a close round but I would say that Fred Jones will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Fred Jones's cut. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Jones was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger. A telegraphed right hand from Time misses the target. Fred Jones is winning the standup battle so far. A lazy left from Jones finds it's target. Good exchange - Jones coming out on top. Time on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those. Time connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Jones momentarily.

A kick lands to the mid section there for Jones. A punch combination from Time misses. Time throws a hook but Jones blocks it. Jones cracks Time with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

Time throws a lazy right hand but Jones sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Jones swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mamaev throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Bitch. Bitch feinted there with a counter leg kick. Bitch is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Mamaev. A lazy body kick from Mamaev and Bitch counters with a lovely straight right hand! Bitch definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Mamaev looks to land a left hand but Bitch moved out of range nicely. Mamaev getting the better of the striking in that exchange. A little feinted left hand from Bitch on the counter but he doesn't commit to it. Mamaev's coach down at VenDettaGYM was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Mamaev's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight. Mamaev thows a left - swing and a miss! Bitch is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Mamaev. Mamaev misses with a hook

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Mamaev can do anything to dispel that myth. Mamaev keeping hold of Bitch's head, controlling as best he can. Mamaev trying to control but Bitch postures up.
