The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thomas keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Lingus feints and as Thomas raises his hands in defense, Lingus changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Lingus postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Thomas manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.
Lingus has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Thomas after a bit of a struggle.
Thomas is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Lingus pulls him back up using the underhooks.

Lingus turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Lingus manages to end up in side control.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Oh yeah, baby! How'd you like them apples?!

Well Harper has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Main event

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Johnny Bronco (ranked 1404 p4p, 167 weight class) and Streicher Voges (ranked 2217 p4p, 247 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Voges's choice of entrance music: Windgat bakkie. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A big left from Bronco misses.

Voges closes the distance and pushes Bronco back into the cage.

Bronco digs a right hand underneath Voges's ribcage. Voges let out a lung full of air as it connected.

Voges changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Bronco fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Voges's coach down at Holding Cell was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Voges's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
