The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Li misses with a body shot.
Dok throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Dok has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Temp Spar Gym in the buildup to the fight. A jab from Dok does it's job there. Dok lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. Dok moves out of range as Li throws a body kick.
Li throws a nice looking combination but Dok bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Dok's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Dok duly obliges.

Dok saw that one coming. Li looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Li looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Li looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple. Dok is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Li dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Li throws an overhand right that lands on Dok's shoulder, as Dok tries to avoid the shot. Dok works over Li's head and body with a nice combination.
And that's the end of the fight! Gok Dok showed his dominance in that final round. Well Dok has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Theron is running around with a crazed look on his face - you can see how much that meant to him!

Van Roosmalen lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! Brit lands with a left to the head. Brit really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Brit breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Ru takes a shot right to the bread basket. Brit tries to close the distance and clinch but Ru swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Zama is looking to clinch but Baltazar is avoiding it.

Baltazar's corner calls for a 1-2. Baltazar obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range. Zama's jab looks to have found its range, popping Baltazar under the eye. Baltazar throws a right hand that misses
and Zama counters with a nice body shot. Baltazar dips to his left and cracks Zama with an uppercut! Zama scores with a shot to the body.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Zama swings away with a leg kick that misses. Zama throws a body punch but Baltazar moves out of range. A swing and a miss from Baltazar. Baltazar throws a body punch but Zama moves out of range. Zama swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Zama misses with a hook. Baltazar ducked under it nicely. The fight moves into the clinch position.

Baltazar digs a right hand underneath Zama's ribcage. Zama let out a lung full of air as it connected. Baltazar lands with a light punch inside. Zama misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Baltazar.

It looks like Silo Zama has been cut. Baltazar manages to break the clinch.
Baltazar definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Zama drops his guard momentarily, allowing Baltazar to crack him with a picture perfect lead left hook! Boom! Down goes Zama! Oh, he's in big trouble - I don't like his chances here as the referee's count reaches 5. 6,7,8,9...10! He's out! Baltazar takes it!

Our winner, Francisco Baltazar, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jones misses the body punch and Thorpe counters with a nice uppercut. Jones takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Jones scores to the head and body with a nice combination! Jones throws a combination that misses enabling Thorpe to counter with a crisp jab. We've been informed that Jones has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result. Jones misses with a hook
and Thorpe counters with a nice uppercut. Jones lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Thorpe backs up against the ropes.

Jones throws a combination that misses enabling Thorpe to counter with a crisp jab. Thorpe looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple. Thorpe steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Jones. That one must have hurt. Jones looks to score with a jab to the body but Thorpe is just out of range. A little feinted left hand from Thorpe on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.

Thorpe was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger. Jones thuds his shin into the meat of Thorpe's side. No joy there for Jones, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

letting Thorpe counter with a right hand. Jones throws a series of punches but Thorpe moves out of range. Thorpe swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect. Jones throws a series of punches but Thorpe moves out of range. Jones connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. Jones throws a body kick that misses.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A head kick misses from Jones. Thorpe was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger. Jones ducks down and throws a hook to the body. Thorpe is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches. Thorpe sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs. Thorpe is breathing heavily. This has been an exciting period of action! Jones sizes up Thorpe with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle. John Jones is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Jones scores with a slapping inside leg kick. Ouch! a nice leg kick from Jones, right into the meat.

Thorpe swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect. Jones thuds a left hand into Thorpe's body. Thorpe doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. Jones digs a good hook to Thorpe's body.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Jones throws a wild combination but nothing lands. An attempted straight right counter from Thorpe misses the target. John Jones seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Thorpe takes a shot to the body in his stride.

Jones connects with a leg kick. Thorpe looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it. Jones lands a head kick that bluckles Thorpe and drops him to the canvas. He's still conscious but it looks like it's going to take him the full 10 seconds to get back his senses! He's up on 9 and seems to be just about OK to continue.... the referee agrees and we're back to the action with Jones no doubt looking to push for a finish!

That's four minutes gone in the round. Jones throws a head kick that misses. Jones clips Thorpe with a right and a left that makes him do the chicken dance for a couple of seconds. He touched his left hand down on the canvas so the referee steps between the fighters to give Thorpe a standing 8 count before we can continue the bout. Jones connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. Thorpe takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Thorpe takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him. Jones is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Thorpe rather than just go for the knockout. Jones thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Thorpe if he has to take too many more of those.
Jones digs a good body shot into Thorpe's ribs. The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end. Jones throws out a head kick that Thorpe doesn't see coming - it connects and sends Thorpe crashing to the mat face first! He's bounced up to his knees and is scrambling to get back to his feet and beat the count. He's up on 5 but still looks a bit groggy; will the referee allow it to continue??? He's taking a good look into Thorpe's eyes and has decided to let it go on!
Thorpe is rocked! Thorpe leaves his chin hanging out and Jones seizes the opportunity with an uppercut! Thorpe crumbles to the floor in a heap! The referee steps in and tends to the downed fighter! What a knockout!

John Jones decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
