 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nice takedown defense from Nelson. No joy for Armani on that attempt.
Nelson shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Nelson was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Nelson sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it! Armani is looking to get to half guard. Nelson throwing shots from mount but they're not landing. Nelson could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Armani is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Armani gets back to half guard. Nelson content to control rather than advance. Armani is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Armani keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Nelson trying to control the pace. Armani slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Nelson content to stall in guard here. Nelson won't allow Armani to sweep him here. Nelson stops Armani from standing up. Nelson is stalling in the full guard. Nelson has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Nelson seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Armani for as long as he can get away with. Nelson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Armani swivels though and keeps the full guard. Nelson wants to control from the top but Armani keeps moving.
Nelson is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Armani is pulling down on Nelson's head to control his posture.

 The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Don Nelson. Armani shoots and misses
and Nelson counters with a shoot takedown. Armani fights it but they end up in guard. Armani looks gassed! Nelson wants to control from the top but Armani keeps moving. Armani trying to control the position.

Armani gets caught flat footed, as Nelson shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Nelson trying to control but Armani is working from the bottom. Nelson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Armani swivels though and keeps the full guard. Nelson might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Nelson slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Nelson loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Armani wants to hit a switch here but Nelson passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Armani there! The referee warns Armani that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Nelson content just to control the position here. Nelson can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Armani is looking to escape. Nelson takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Nelson has hold of Armani's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Armani manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

 That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Nelson sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Nelson throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Armani because Nelson loaded up on that one. Armani blocking the ground and pound. Armani wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Nelson.

Nelson is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Armani has managed to escape the submission attempt.

Armani is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Nelson can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Armani is looking to escape. Nelson is really struggling to control Armani but he's trying to hold on to the position.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
 The referee stands the fighters back up. Don Nelson just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.
Nelson instigates a clinch. Nelson throws a knee to the head but misses.

A head punch blocked on the inside by Armani. Nelson is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace. Nelson seems to have come into the fight with the intention of avoiding any damage in the clinch, rather than actually showing any aggression. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Armani blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. Nelson works on Armani's body with a couple of short punches. Armani is trying to break free. Armani takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Armani being controlled against the cage.

Armani blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. Nelson wants a takedown but no success here.

 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Becker misses with a hook. d uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Becker. Becker misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Becker tries to bum rush d with a series of wild strikes but d uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Becker throws a right hand that d ducks under and follows up with a left that d also avoids with ease.
d shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. d showed some decent athleticism there. d is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
d jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle�. Ooooh, that looks tight� Becker is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Becker and d has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Becker stops d from passing to mount. d is looking to take a break and control but Becker is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
d is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Becker is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
d tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no d has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. d trying to control the action but Becker is working from the bottom. d tries to land with some ground and pound but misses. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
d swings around for an armbar but Becker sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into d's guard. And that�s the end of the round � the fighters go back to their corners.

Becker throws a right and a left that d avoids nicely. Becker lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but d circles away quickly and effectively.
d feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Becker wants to stand up but d is controlling him. d is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Becker being controlled here, momentarily. d thows a big elbow that misses.
 That's one minute gone in the round. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as d accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Becker working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from d. d throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Becker works some decent striking defense from the bottom. d postures up in Becker's guard and throws a big left but Becker blocks it.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
d drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and d jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
 The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. A combination from Becker does no damage. David Becker seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Becker displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from d. Becker waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract d. d misses with a takedown attempt - Becker sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. David Becker is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. A combination from Becker does no damage. d tries for a takedown but Becker sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. David Becker has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of joe d.

Good composure under pressure. d with the ground and pound but Becker uses the opportunity to regain guard. Both fighters are breathing heavily.
 That's one minute gone in the round. d postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
d drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and d jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Faded seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but aa does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Faded will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. aa wants to clinch but Faded slips to the side
