Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 7 - 0, fighting out of London, Kent Mcallum! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dax Baxter! The judges for this bout are Phil Schofield, Paul Tew and Donald Grub.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mcallum doesn't manage to clinch there - Baxter circles away.
Baxter lands a jab to the nose. Baxter lands with an uppercut that bounces Mcallum off the cage and back into range. Good standup being displayed there by Baxter as he connects with a hook. Baxter fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Mcallum on the side of the head. A combination from Baxter does no damage. Baxter tries to bum rush Mcallum with a series of wild strikes but Mcallum uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Mcallum throws a head kick that misses and Baxter counters with a single leg into guard. Mcallum didn't expect that. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Baxter seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Baxter is pushing down on Mcallum's leg trying to pass to half guard. Mcallum is fighting to maintain full guard but Baxter has managed to sneak the leg through. Baxter is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
That's one minute gone in the round. Baxter prevents Mcallum from improving his position. Baxter slows the pace down in half guard. Mcallum trying to get back to full guard but Baxter takes advantage of the position and moves to full mount!
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Baxter looking to control and managing it successfully. Baxter prevents Mcallum from getting the reversal. Baxter content just to control the position here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Let's hope that Baxter has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. Mcallum keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Mcallum slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Mcallum looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Mcallum is breathing heavily. Baxter stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being. Baxter scores with a jab to the body. Baxter connects with a right that clearly hurt Mcallum. He's backed up against the cage with nowhere to go as Baxter proceeds to tee off with vicious combinations till Mcallum collapses and taps out under the pressure!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dillinger thows a leg kick but Holmes checks it and Holmes counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Dillinger! Dillinger prevents Holmes from improving position. Holmes stands up and beckons Dillinger to his feet. Holmes scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Dillinger tries to improve position but can't. Dillinger takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Holmes wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Dillinger, who protects the arm well. This has been an exciting period of action! Holmes working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! King displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Slamenkov. Slamenkov shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. King is trying to defend but Slamenkov finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Slamenkov shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with King but King pushes him off and we're back to square one. King swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Vladamir Slamenkov. That's going to take a lot out of him. Slamenkov closes the distance and clinches up with King, looking for a takedown. Slamenkov pushes King against the cage but King circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. King keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Slamenkov dives in and grabs King's left leg, looking for a takedown. King pushes down on Slamenkov's head and hops out. Vladamir Slamenkov seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Slamenkov takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Slamenkov on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere. King with a body punch. A glancing blow. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Nice uppercut there from King. Slamenkov misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Vladamir Slamenkov is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. The crowd cheers as King lands an impressive looking overhand right. Slamenkov doesn't seem phased though. King uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Slamenkov has time to react. Good exchange - King coming out on top. King lands a jab to the nose. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Slamenkov takes a shot right to the bread basket. King lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Slamenkov is rocked! Slamenkov misses with a takedown attempt and King counters with a huge right that knocks Slamenkov out cold! King is running around with a crazed look on his face - you can see how much that meant to him!

We've been informed that Pollock has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result. Pollock lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. Pollock lands a nice hook to Hall Jr's body. Hall Jr takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. Hall Jr ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Hall Jr throws a head kick that misses. Pollock unleashes a big counter combination but Hall Jr bobs and weaves and avoids any damage. Pollock connects with a body shot. Pollock misses with a body shot.

Pollock cracks Hall Jr with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Pollock scores with a decent looking hook. Hall Jr misses with a head kick.
Sloppy strikes from Hall Jr. Those never looked like landing. As Hall Jr backs off Pollock throws a huge counter combo but Hall Jr manages to avoid it all. Hall Jr throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena. Pollock misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Funaki misses the shot to the body. Hanzo does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Hatori Hanzo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Hanzo looks to score with a jab to the body but Funaki is just out of range. Hanzo misses the shot to the body. A little jabbing left from Funaki on the counter but it doesn't find it's target. Hanzo just misses with a punch to the body.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Winston Jr fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Mullen avoids it really well and circles away. Mullen leaves Winston Jr with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. We've been informed that Winston Jr has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result. Winston Jr looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Nick Mullen has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Oliver Winston Jr. Mullen uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Winston Jr has time to react. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A clash of legs there as Barbosa blocks the low kick. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Barbosa. Barbosa shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Haaparanta counters with a slapping leg kick. Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Haaparanta.
Barbosa fails with a takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Caio Barbosa. That's going to take a lot out of him. Barbosa tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Haaparanta defends well and Barbosa ends up having to push Haaparanta into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Haaparanta unleashes a big counter combination but Barbosa bobs and weaves and avoids any damage. Haaparanta goes for a spinning back kick but it misses. Barbosa fails with a takedown attempt. Barbosa changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Haaparanta tries to avoid it but Barbosa manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Haaparanta to the ground. Haaparanta escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Haaparanta throws a counter combo. Barbosa fails with a takedown attempt. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Barbosa tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him. Barbosa will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Haaparanta is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own. Barbosa throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Haaparanta was covering up waiting for the punch and Barbosa finishes the takedown easily into guard. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Barbosa is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

I've been told that Haaparanta has been drilling his wrestling of late, which has already helped him take this fight to the mat. Oh but he could get punished here because Barbosa has locked up a guillotine! Barbosa's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? Haaparanta is holding on here and Barbosa must be using up a lot of energy. Haaparanta has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Barbosa gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nice sprawl there from Zabirov as Blood shoots in. Blood has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight. Blood shoots in looking for a takedown but Zabirov manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Blood's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Blood ducks under a wild hook from Zabirov. Blood shoots in for a takedown but Zabirov shows good takedown defense. It looked like Zabirov was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit. Zabud Zabirov has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jack Blood. Blood closes the distance and clinches. Blood changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Zabirov fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Blood fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Zabirov sprawls well initially but Blood persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Blood is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
