Steve Jr shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Van Der Dusse sprawls well. Van Der Dusse wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Steve Jr gets slowly back to his feet.

Steve Jr's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Van Der Dusse connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Steve Jr scrambles back to his feet.

Steve Jr is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Van Der Dusse defends well.

Steve Jr escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Van Der Dusse gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Steve Jr is looking for a triangle but Van Der Dusse pushes his legs off easily.

Van Der Dusse working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Steve Jr's head.

Steve Jr has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Van Der Dusse is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Steve Jr.
Steve Jr is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Van Der Dusse has just dragged him back down to the mat.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Van Der Dusse tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Van Der Dusse has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Steve Jr manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Van Der Dusse lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

Steve Jr wants to get back to his feet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Van Der Dusse connects with a nice short shot to Steve Jr's temple.
Steve Jr is not content to let Van Der Dusse control the position.

Steve Jr pushes a forearm under Van Der Dusse's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Van Der Dusse is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
