The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Daranbolt plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
It looks like Maverick Syndal has been cut. Syndal tests Daranbolt's chin there with a solid looking shot.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hogan decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. We've been hearing good reports from Angelo's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today. Nice strikes from Hogan there. Angelo looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Hogan drops an elbow to the side of Angelo's head. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Picker dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Picker slips under a jab from Keene. Picker looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it. Jab, jab by Keene - just one landing. Picker moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot. Sloppy strikes from Keene. Those never looked like landing. It seemed like Picker was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it. Keene throws the left hand but Picker avoids the punch easily. Keene misses with the combination.

A slow jab from Picker misses its intended target. Keene scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Picker doesn't seem bothered though. Picker blocks a jab. Picker stalks Keene and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Keene's face. Keene staggers backwards, shaken. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Keene throws a poor cross that misses
and Picker connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Picker swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Keene keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

Keene is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Derek Wylde seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Jackson uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Wylde.

46 - 24 - 2, fighting out of London, Brandon Hale! The judges for this bout are Radbod Blank, Paul Aken and Daniel Blasius.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Black jabs Hale to the body, keeping him at a distance. The fighters circle momentarily. Black darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. Hale shoots in for a double leg but Black sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Jab from Black. Hale has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. Hale throws a jab when Black was well out of range. Hale takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Black lands a slapping body shot.
Black throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Hale stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Black avoids a punch combination nicely.
Hale gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there. Black connects with the punch. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Black shoots for a takedown but Hale saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Black with a hook. Matt Black seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Hale pulls out of a head kick attempt.

It looked like Black was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Hale. Black listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut. Black swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Hale. A decent looking cross lands there for Black. Hale connects with a leg kick. Black looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it. Black takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away. Black throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Hale on the side of the head. Black is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Nice shot lands for Black. Hale throws a right hand that Black ducks under and follows up with a left that Black also avoids with ease. An inside leg kick lands from Hale. A jab from Black does it's job there. Black throws the left hand but Hale avoids the punch easily. Black connects with a body shot that sends Hale's belly button to the back. Black scores with a nice right hand.

Black tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Hale manages to circle out of the way. Hale throws an off balance right hand
and Black counters with a lovely straight right hand! Black darts in and clinches Hale up against the cage. Black struggles to land a body shot inside as Hale controls his hands.
Black escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Black moves into the clinch. Black breaks the clinch.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd cheers as Black lands an impressive looking overhand right. Hale doesn't seem phased though. The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Black checks a leg kick. Hale tries to clinch up but Black circles away and keeps his distance. Black connects with a jab. Black takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away. Black connects with a body shot that sends Hale's belly button to the back. Black is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches. Black closes the distance and pushes Hale back into the cage. A nice right hand lands inside from Black. Hale breaks from the clinch.
Black throws a combination. Hale tries to block but a couple of punches get through. Black misses with a few strikes there.
Hale lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected. The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end. Black is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Hale's half guard. Black prevents Hale from standing back up.

Black moves out of range of the strikes. Hale throws a jab but it's blocked by Black. Black lands a really nice looking cross but Hale seems unphased.
Hale stuns Black with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. Black dodges the punch combination from Hale.
Black is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Hale can do to turn this around? Black bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Hale's head. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Black throws a body shot but no joy. Black keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Black connects with the punch. Black forces Hale back against the cage and clinches. Black lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Black looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Hale! Black is trying to get an arm triangle but Hale is defending well. Hale is pushing Black's head away, looking to escape. Black manages to hold on to the position though. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Black wants to control but Hale is keeping him busy.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Black tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Black has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Black will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Hale is trying to escape and get back to his feet. Black controls the position. Black wants to control but Hale is keeping him busy. Black is trying to get an arm triangle but Hale is defending well. Black working the strikes but Hale uses the opportunity to regain half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Black content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. Hale tries to kick Black off but Black keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Black takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Black lands a nice short elbow. Black works his way into side control. Black is putting a hurting on Hale here, landing some big shots from side control. Check out the look on Black's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!
Black is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Hale has escaped the position, nice work there. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Black's jab looks to have found its range, popping Hale under the eye. Black lands a nice hook to Hale's body. Hale takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. Matt Black is winning the standup battle so far. Hale takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him. Black tests Hale's chin there with a solid looking shot. Black getting the better of the striking in that exchange. Black lands a nice shot that snaps Hale's head back.

Black thuds his right hand into Hale's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters. Black shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Black stalling. Black passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Hale!

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Black's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. Hale trying desperately to get to his feet.
