Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Shelby Foote (ranked 1835 p4p, 189 weight class) and Patrick Seery (ranked 522 p4p, 66 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Seery's choice of entrance music: An Irish Pub Song. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A telegraphed right hand from Seery misses the target.
Seery throws a hook but Foote avoids it easily.
Foote throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
A slow jab from Seery misses its intended target.
Seery throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Seery fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Foote manages to avoid it.
Foote tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Seery cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Foote takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Seery has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Foote is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Foote misses with a takedown
and Foote takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Seery moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Seery misses the shot to the body.
Foote changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
Foote misses with a takedown attempt - Seery sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Foote closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Seery did well to prevent Foote getting side control.
Foote is keen to just control but Seery is a slippery customer.

Foote is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Seery is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!

Cole Orion told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Saarenpaa comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Orion misses with an uppercut
and Saarenpaa makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
Saarenpaa fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Saarenpaa misses with a series of wild punches.
A little jabbing left from Orion on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Saarenpaa is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Orion.
Orion uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Saarenpaa has time to react.

It looks like Mika Saarenpaa has been cut.
Saarenpaa bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Orion throws a lazy right hand but Saarenpaa sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Orion lands a big right hand that sends Saarenpaa crashing to the mat! Orion stays standing though and waves Saarenpaa back to his feet!

Saarenpaa is rocked!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Saarenpaa walks right into a perfectly timed right hook and goes down hard! He's out cold! The ref cradles Saarenpaa limp body while Orion jumps on to the cage and waves to the roaring crowd. Wow that was just a brutal knockout!
