The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dakine lands a head kick. Moraes smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Dakine tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Moraes should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Dakine throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Dakine throws a nice head kick!

Moraes shoots in and bounces Dakine off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Moraes tries to free his leg and advance position but Dakine is retaining full guard.

Dakine has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Moraes can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Dakine can't keep his opponent in guard - Moraes advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

We've been informed that Jacob has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.

Shaw is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Shaw has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.
